This is a great hide-a-way place downtown to get a cheap lunch that is healthy and taste great!! Convenient to dine inside (if they're not too busy), or to pick up an go. The staff are friendly, helpful, and give the feeling that they appreciate your business.
I love when avocado is standard on a sub, not extra cost! ThunderCloud is way better than Subway and better than WhichWich! Fresh and delicious. Great meat, veggies and bread. All around awesome!

I grew up in Austin. I've been eating Thundercloud Subs since I was a kid in the seventies. This places in Austin staple I have always loved this place great food great people always a great atmosphere. Am I biased? Yes I am so what.
I like ThunderCloud Subs for the quality of their food and the service. It might be a little more expensive than Subway, but worth it in my opinion. Here you have one competent sandwich maker making your sandwich from start to finish rather than it being passed off in assembly line fashion by a group of people only pretending to pay attention to your order.
My favorites are the nada chicken parmesan and the texas tuna.
This ThunderCloud in particular has a great location downtown. It's next to a Royal Blue, so what I'll do is get a bottle of beer at Royal Blue, get a sub at Thundercloud, and sit at the tables outside for a cheap dinner.
I love thundercloud subs. The ingredients are fresh and prices are reasonable. They are great for vegetarians, as they have a fake-chicken patty that they can put on a sub with veggies or with marinara and cheese for fake-chicken parmigiana subs.
Simple, fresh, and tasty subs. The staff consists of prototypical Austin hipsters, but they all know how to make a mean sandwich. My top picks are the Egg Salad Sandwich, Veggie Delite, and the NADA Chicken Parmesan. (Yes, I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian.) Fast, cheap, good -- you really can have it all!
An uncomplicated solid tasting sub in a complicated hipster foodie world. Fresh ingredients, solid bread. Simple, delicious and affordable. All around a nice little find for lunch.
Easy place to slip into if you're in the area, they have a cool little mini library inside where you can borrow and leave books. The food is nice and easy; I appreciated the tables they had outside.
This location is efficient at lunch so the line moves quickly. My favorite sandwich shop. Great carrot cake too.
