Great brunch! It wasn't crowded, the food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed and LGBTQ friendly, and the prices were great. I had a veggie burger and tots and they were both exceptionally good. My wife really liked the Bloody Mary. It's dog friendly and it looks like they have a lot of fun events on their schedule. There's a nice outdoor patio, darts, pool, etc.

We were very excited to check out this bar with its New Orleans influenced menu. We got the burrata, shrimp po boy, fries, and strawberry frozen drinks! All were excellent. Docking a star as the bartenders weren’t very friendly. They sadly fell into the bucket of snooty east Austin bartenders for sure.

My husband and I stopped in after a busy weekend in Austin. We wanted something laid back with excellent food and The Cavalier delivered. Our bartender, Cam, was friendly and provided great service. Vibes were great and the food was phenomenal - easily the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had! Highly recommend and if/when we come back to Austin, we will be sure to stop in again.

While on a day visit to Austin and craving a truly great cheeseburger, I hit the jackpot when I decided to try The Cavalier on the east side of this great town. As soon as I walked in the door I was overcome with good vibes of smiling faces of people and canines, a genuinely laid back atmosphere, perfect to enjoy some great food. A great variety of music swirled about as I tended to by the awesome staff. My cheeseburger was nothing short of amazing. I had the Swenson which was of the smashed variety, with fresh toppings including perfectly grilled onions and dripping with in-house burger sauce. While many people had only great comments on the bar itself, I chose ice tea and it paired perfectly with a burger that literally melted in my mouth. I knew it might be awhile before I could get back to Austin so I ordered another one and polished it off as I had the first. The Cavalier totally delivered, knocked it out of the park. My only regret was forgetting to add a snapshot for it was truly beautiful. Thanks guys, you really made my week.

Came for brunch with my girlfriend and some friends. I had the build your own biscuits and gravy with two biscuits, add a fried egg and bacon. It was really good, one of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. My girlfriend got the chicken and waffles which was very good also. I lived in Nola and this dish was very similar to one I had for brunch there. There were two bartenders (you order at the bar), service was eh. It’s a very laid back place but almost not attentive. One thing that did annoy me was their website says “favorite non sports bar to watch sports”, they only have 3 tvs. Only 1 was actually turned on, and not on sports. On a day with nfl preseason games and first day of college football. There is a pool table and 3 dart boards here too. Also have frozen dog treats for $1.

Really good brunch. I got the chicken and waffles and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was fried nicely, still juicy, and the breading wasted soggy. The waffles were alright; tastes like generic waffles but the whipped butter was good. I’d def go back to try the chicken biscuit. It looked delicious.

Good prices, extremely kind staff. Patio can fill up, but early evening weekdays I’ve never had an issue finding a spot. Pool table and 4 dartboards. The veggie burger is one of the best I’ve had in the city!! Doesn’t fall apart, and has a high quality bun. One of my favorite spots for something more laid-back but not uptight.

Another NOLA theme in East ATX. It was a fun atmosphere. Food and drinks were so-so. But they were hosting a drag brunch for OutYouth - so they get extra stars for that!

One of my favorite neighborhood bars! Their food is great and they do offer different options for brunch. They are also one of the Austin FC Official bars and I love seeing other fans there to enjoy the game. They have a pool table and darts inside; outside you'll find a good amount of seating since they've converted part of the parking lot in in patio. They are also very much dog friendly and even have treats at the bar! They have recently opened up Wicky's Walk Up which has also has a great menu and different drink options. Don't forget they have Drag Brunch on Sundays and buy one get one Burger Night on Mondays. Highly recommend this place.
