Quick and efficient service, helpful and friend staff. The drunken noodle is good, quite authentic fried noodle. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!
I called ahead, December answered and said they weren't taking orders and didn't explain further. I drove there and they took my order and weren't busy. Pretty friendly, just have a phone problem. Food was good and fast 10-15 minutes.
Overall, the food is very good. As with most restaurants there are some things on the menu I REALLY like and others that aren't my preference. I am a fan of their salad which has a very tasty dressing and I like the fact you can get a pot of hot green tea and enjoy a leisurely meal. I have also enjoyed several of their appetizers, the vermicelli noodles and some of the made to order entrees. Most of the time I am very impressed with the service and on many occasions have enjoyed their attentive service and friendly attitude. Most of the time if you share your good attitude with them they will more than return the favor.
My experience today was contrary to the 1 star reviews about wrong orders, disorganization etc. They were great! I placed the order online but arrived much earlier than anticipated. They pushed the order through and I was out in 10 minutes. I didn't catch the guys name that rang me up, but he and Ray (the manager I think) were polite and efficient. I forgot to sign the CC slip and initially stiffed them, but I called them when I got home and we worked it out. Again, great staff and kudos to the kitchen for busting ass and making a great meal for me and my slightly hungover wife :)
I agonized for a while over 3 stars or 4. I finally went with the higher rating because I do enjoy eating here and there are several really good dishes on the menu. Mama Fu's is not super-authentic but it's not Panda Express either...it's hard to imagine not finding something you like here. Their egg rolls need help though.
The food is nothing too fancy, but I'm giving them 4 stars for convenience if nothing else. It's good, it's filling, the service is always friendly, and its always open. Which is a huge plus. Comfortable seating, and lots of it. And a very decent gluten free menu.
The Sunset Valley Mama Fu's not only has the most courteous staff; I also think it has the most delicious food! And with the new lunch special of smaller portion size of the excellent entrees, a tasty side, and a beverage for less money than a regular priced entree, what more can you ask for!
I recommend the Honey Glazed Chicken on brown rice and either edamame or my new favorite as of today, the egg drop soup! ;9
They always remember my name AND what I order; with that kind of service why go elsewhere?

Best Asian food so far. :)
We've tried a few Chinese/Asian places in south austin so far and have been pretty disappointed with the results- they've all been bland, soggy, or otherwise less than appetizing.
Mama fu's was crisp and fresh tasting, flavorful (well, as flavorful as you can get with a takeout place), and generally pleasing. I was elated to find they had Singapore noodles. Although they were made differently than I'm used to, they were still a delicious combination of sweet and spicy. The teriyaki chicken was slightly sweet still light and yummy. The fried rice was a little bland but still strides better than what was offered by other local places.
Overall, the food was very tasty. I was a little dismayed at what seemed to be higher than normal prices before I ordered but figured it was worth it for tasty, consistent orders. However, I was shocked at the delivery charge- more than 5 bucks and decided delivery would not be a feature I would use.
The online ordering system was easy to use and worked well even in mobile format. The order was ready to go surprisingly quickly.
THIS Mama Fus is fantastic! I have been to atleast 5 different Mama Fus locations and thought the chain was "meh" before finding this location. Food is always on point, service is exceptionally good. I have now adventured through a huge chunk of this locations menu and I haven't found anything bad. I have a gluten allergy and they always take extreme care with my order. I never have to make all of the special requests, I just say gluten free. It's wonderful. Awesome place!
Worth going back. Nice clean place. Friendly staff helped us through the menu since it was our 1st time to eat here. We received our food quicker than expected. Overall, everything was great.
