Ordered the Cowboy, which is a brisket and sausage sandwich. Loved the brisket, couldn't finish the sausage. Also liked their jalapeno corn. Friendly service and convenient location!

J. Leonardi's is a fantastic gem on the east side of Austin that really embodies what the east side used to be. Owned and managed by folks who grew up in the historically black and Latino community that dominated the east side in the past they are keeping the tradition alive and are doing it exceptionally. Highlights here are the brisket and ribs but dont pass up on anything Jerome and his team are doing, especially those sandwiches. When you visit this spot you'll feel like you're not in Austin anymore with how the neighborhood vibe influences everything they do. Give them a visit, they deserve it, and you owe it to yourself to get a taste of what Texas BBQ is really about, community.

The meat is great but the real MVPs are the smoked cabbage and banana pudding. It’s all made from scratch and you can tell. The jalapeño creamed corn is great as well but my stomach only has room for one side ATM. I haven’t had banana pudding close to this good since visiting Birmingham AL, and I think this one is better. The meat has been covered already in other reviews but the brisket is excellent, the ribs are flavorful and tender, and the rub actually has seasoning besides salt and pepper.

It’s my lucky day. Hungry at the front end of some errands and happened up on this truck on E. 11th Street. Sliced brisket sandwich (add pickles, onions, sauce) and potato salad. So tasty. Really A+ level brisket with some killer burnt ends. My wife had sides of smoked cabbage and pinto beans/brisket. Also totally yum. These guys are friendly and seem really committed to the quality product. Dig it. The rest of the menu is calling my name. We’ll be back. Highly recommended

Krikaoli recommends it! It is a fabulous barbecue food truck. I shared three types of meat and two sides with my girlfriend. I suggest four types of meat to share — sausage, ribs, brisket, beans, and corn. I ate almost crying with pleasure. The price was also a plus, 20 grant, two bottles of water included.

Got the plate with brisket and ribs for $15. Came with potato salad and a drink (you can choose other sides as well). Brisket was just what I wanted, good bark and melt in your mouth fat. The potato salad was great too. Ribs deserve 4 stars but overall great place.

This barbecue was amazingly good. Didn't have to wait the hour and a half to two hours at Franklin's and it was right down the street. I recommend it highly the ribs and the brisket excellent.

Tasty sliced brisket sandwich. The generous portion of meat bursts out of the burger buns. Outdoor sitting. Very relaxed. I visited on a December Saturday at around 1 pm. There was no line up.

A lot of people probably come to the area for another bbq place, wait long hours, just to get whatever they have left over from other customers who camped out really early - avoid that. Come here instead. Slow cooked and smoked is the right way to have bbq - they skimp on neither of those elements here. My husband and I got portions of brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork and turkey to sample as much as we could from their menu. Everything was spot on! The ribs fell off the bone, the brisket was smokey and tender but not too smokey. The turkey was incredibly tender as well, but the pulled pork stole the show for us. If you get tired of standing in the sun for hours, make the better choice!

Crazy good. I've been to Franklin's and it's as good. Brisket even better. Franklin's sent me away at 1pm so I found this. The fact that I didn't have to wait and got meat down to 1/4lb was great. Most important the owner was very friendly. Def. Superstar on the rise
