Summer Moon Coffee Bar - North Austin

Summer Moon is by far my favorite coffee shop to visit. The coffee is very tasty, the baristas are super friendly and the management works extra hard to ensure all customers are taken care of. They also listen to suggestions and have reinvested in the space by adding comfy lounge chairs and more space inside to work. If you go early in the morning it can be busy (like every coffee shop) and it tends to have more people stopping and meeting than most coffee shops. Its a joyful and happy ambiance that I highly recommend.

Definitely the most unique espresso ever, though sometimes tastes a little burnt which may just be the wood. The moon milk is also very unique, and tastes amazing. The blue moon and quarter moon are both perfect. They also have very creamy chai lattes, and the best matcha I have ever had. I have still not found a store that compares to Summer Moons matcha moon. Always space to work, and a convenient drive through. Food is pretty decent, but nothing insane. Overall very good and convenient due to the surplus of locations and drive through, but as a chain it just can’t compete with some smaller coffee shops.

I'm sure the staff gets tired of explaining their moon milk options which are a welcome difference from a standard coffee shop. I hope they keep doing so because these are the types of places that keep the food and beverage scene in Austin so interesting and enjoyable. If you're going for the first time, shoot for the moon and don't order your standard coffee drink.

Today I had my first Moon Glacier, mocha, and added 2 espresso shots. OMG I can’t even begin to say how much better this was compared to a Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino! Sooo much better, you can just taste the quality and it’s so flavorful. I did t know Moon Glaciers didn’t have caffeine and I was so appreciative of the barista asking me if I wanted espresso added!! They told me it would be a bit sweet but I asked to have it not too sweet and assuming the espresso helped. 🤷‍♀️ it was perfect and even better than perfect. One of the blended iced drinks I’ve EVER had! I finished the drink before I got home!! Highly recommend trying these, if you haven’t already. 👏🏻🙌🏻
