Ten Oak

Nice interior, nachos were solid, bartender was very helpful. Liquor selection was respectable, but the beer selection is lacking. They only had one beer per type: one stout, one porter, one lager, etc. Except IPA, which they technically had two of, but were out of one. Regardless, I'd happily go back.

I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to post a review, because I want this gem to be kept secret from the crowds. Their burger is 10/10 and drinks are strong and on point. Sure the $7 truffle fries are not something your pockets would allow you to order every time, but spoil yourself. I only once listened to live music here and loved it. It was only 2 guys performing but the song that were covered were from a wide variety and their voices were really good.

I've been to tenOak a couple different times and never had a bad experience. Their food is pretty good for being a bar. I know one of my favorites is the pulled pork nachos. They have a pretty good selection of drinks. They even had a pickle martini. It's different and fun. Their are always people here but it's not over crowded.

We had such a wonderful time here! We recently moved to the Austin area and don't know what places are good or bad on our way to 6th st. We passed many resuraunts and coffee shops and none of them looked ideal to us -until TenOak. What a great atmosphere! It really draws you in, even when we were across the street! Not too pricy and you certainly get bang for your buck! The food tasted fabulous! I had the roast chicken (comes on garlic mashed taters) but I switched the taters for spinach. Soo tasty! I don't know what they put on their mushrooms but it was so savory. -And the icing on the cake was certainly the waiter. Shea was simply wonderful! We are a talkative young couple and add a few drink into that mix and we couldn't shut up! Had such a nice conversation with the young gentleman about this, that, and the other. He was very attentive to our glasses when they needed to be filled and making sure everything tasted alright. He even went to the back to get me butter for my chicken! (I eat quite a bit of butter daily, and I'm 110lbs -go figure.) Simply put; we will DEFINITELY be back!
