The friendly staff and awesome decor and vibe were just the cherry on top for the incredible food they put out. A perfect brunch spot with a lot of variety and slammin brunch cocktails. If you are a bachelorette party this SHOULD be your Sunday brunch, without question. I asked for hotter salsa, they delivered and even gave recommendations on sharing plates to get the best experience. 100/10. To enhance your experience, take a scooter ride to and from and just feel the breeze in your hair after a delicious meal!
Awesome brunch spot with great Mexican food. Their green salsa you get with Chips is amazing. I ordered the Migas and was not disappointed, the drinks were flowing, and flowing out of some others. Absolutely great time and I’ll be sure to be back. Plus they have a cool story!
Lovely spot in East Austin, cute interior and great food, the beef is local so it’s a must try, really really good! Came here for brunch and the outdoor and indoor areas are really nice, good bang for buck too!
I finally tried Grizzeldas and it was so good! Reservations would be best if you have a larger party or want to sit inside. It seemed outdoor seating is always open first come first serve. Okay the food was delicious! We started with salsa and the ceviche (called something else on the menu). The ceviche was very refreshing and big chunks of fish. We did a chicken fajita platter and add steak and it was so much food we had lots of leftovers. The chicken and steak were great and the melted cheese on the skillet was a great touch! The drinks were delicious. I would highly recommend this place for dinner or casual outdoor weekend lunch (:
Started with the chips and salsa, and queso. They were good, the darker salsa was my better in my opinion, the lighter one had a little spice but not much flavor. The queso was really good though.
I ordered the enchiladas de pollo verde, they were good just kind of a small portion for the price ($24).
The rice and beans were what you’d expect as well. The weird thing about those though- myself and my gf each ordered entrees that came with rice and beans. They only brought us one bowl of rice and one of beans, I’m not sure if it were meant for us to share or they forgot the other two bowls. Either way a little weird to me.
Our service was great though. And dog friendly
Also their was a happy hour on 25% off apps, I believe all day Wednesday and then Thursday 6-7
Starting with the food, everything's delicious! Chips are made in house (and they show) instead of the regular heb bag you find in most places, plates look small at first sight but trust me you'll probably need boxes, i needed 3! Very flavorful, tasty and delicious.
The michelada? OMG i literally said wow when it arrived, I've never seen this presentation and it's a pleasant surprise!
Inside is a bit too loud, but you can still talk with whoever you come with so I'm not taking points out because of this... Ebbs and flows some might say.
Overall great, 10/10 would recommend. Thanks!!!
Love the ambience. Food was decent. Bottomless mimosas with an entree is a perfect brunch option. Good salsa options.
Excellent food! One is the best steaks I've ever had - the flavor, the cooking, and the tenderness was perfect! For brunch you can't go wrong with the chicken and waffles or the steak scramble! The atmosphere is a little loud, but the food and service make up for it.
Our group really enjoyed our overall dining experience at Grizzelda's. Most things were excellent, with a couple misses. Here's what we tried:
- Ceviche Mixto (with shrimp and snapper) - fresh tasting and delicious, but the bowls they serve it in drain all the juice to the bottom. The accompanying chips are great.
- Cuitlacoche Enchiladas (the special) - This was the winning dish of the night. The flavors are complex and there's a lot going on. It had great texture and I savored every bite. Our server described cuitlacoche as a fungus that grows on corn (a delicacy in Mexico) and that was enough for most people to pass on it, which is a shame; mushrooms are a fungus too, right? (Just don't google it before you try it!)
- Deshebrada (short ribs) tacos - Another winner, perfectly cooked short ribs. All tacos come with the protein on your plate and the in-house made tortillas come separately.
- Picadillo tacos - Good picadillo, meaty and well-seasoned.
- Chile Relleno - Although it looked beautiful, it was just an okay dish.....nothing particularly flavorful about it.
- Mexican rice (side, served family style) - Meh. Lacked seasoning.
- Borracho beans (side, served family style) - Sooo good! (And I don't even like beans all that much).
- Salsa (red) - One of the best salsas in town.
- Conquistador cocktail (bourbon, apple brandy, clove, floating anise star) - Unique and delicious boozy cocktail, highly recommend.
The decor is contemporary, stylish and gorgeous; loved the wall paper. I also loved the glassware.
Great ambience, good food.
Went for girls brunch.
Patio is super cute and mostly shaded.
The pink margarita is not very good (but my friend said her frozen marg was good)
I got the steak scramble, the steak was really good and there was a ton. The eggs were kinda blah and there wasn't any salsa with it. The side of rice was good as were the tortillas, but the beans were okay.
It was good, I might go back. Just expensive, but the portions were also large, I only ate half of mine.
I think it's be best if you went with people you didn't mind sharing with.
