Excellent service every dish I have ordered it is always great love the El Paso Rib Eye cooked better than a steak house .Mexican Martini are strong and dare to eat the hot sauce it is hot.
It has been years since I dropped by Azul Tequila and frankly forgot about them. I was pleasantly surprised when a client suggested to meet her there for leisurely, boozy lunch. The menu is pretty comprehensive and a lot to take in. However, our very pleasant waiter guided us through the menu in no time. We opted for a frozen and Queso Compuesto to start. The rita was on point and the Queso was yummy. Chips were fresh and crisp and the salsa had the right amount of heat and spice. I was torn between two of the enchilada's. The Mole or the Pipian. I opted for the Mole and the waiter brought me a little side of the Pipian sauce so I could try it. Nice touch. It was definitely unique and I liked it. My choice of the Mole was an exceptional choice. It reminded me of the first Mole I had ever had so many years back. I definitely need to remember this little place next to the Target in Southwest Austin.
Great. And on Friday the mariachis are well worth a visit.
Made an account because of this place!!!. Never seen consistent good reviews, thought they might be fake, but this food was seriously great! We as we'll have passed it several times disregarding it for some reason. But we are now positive it is our favorite Mexican cuisine in Austin! Authentic flavor, ingredients and attitude. Great service! We will definitely be back.
Excellent authentic Mexican food! I ordered the chile relleno en crema - would definitely recommend it but ask for less sauce. Homemade corn tortillas and fajitas were excellent too! Service was pretty bad but I think it was just our server. Must try the coconut margarita - Delicious!
AMAZING MEXICAN FOOD!. I never would have gone inti this place if it wasn't for my boyfriends suggestion. It is next to Target in a not that great shopping plaza- almost hidden. WOW, AM I GLAD WE WENT! This is seriously the best mexican food that I have ever had outside of Mexico itself. I had the veggie enchiladas- I have not stopped thinking about them since we ate... and I am going back there tonight just to try some more of their delicious grub! This is an ABSOLUTE go to restaurant, everyone needs to try! Music, food and drinks are all A+++
Great margaritas!!. We walked by this place about 500 times before we actually decided to give it a try (we live very close). It was a very pleasant surprise.
The margaritas are phenomenal and my carne guisada was a dream; probably the best I've ever had! :)
So, don't be put off by the unspectacular outside!! :)
This was our first time at Azul Tequila , service was wonderful .Our server explained how the menu was devided by enterior mexican to Tex Mex .My wife had the Cochinita Pibil while had the Chile Relleno en Crema both were well executed . Get there early as it get busy by 8:30pm . We arrived at 6:45pm and were seated with no wait, this was on a Saturday evening .Enjoy !
Used a Living Social deal to try their interior Mexican food and a tecate in their casual diner atmosphere. It was food and service on a packed Friday night. Be sure and try the flan. It's a great finish. Salud!
Simply my favorite restaurant in Austin. We eat there every week and have never had a bad meal...never even had an average meal. The albondigas soup is other-worldly. The mole is wonderful. Chile relleno en almendre is heavenly. Salsa is spicy! Margaritas are potent and flavorful. Staff is like family.
Absolutely delicious food. Loved the sopes and wonderful fajitas. Our waiter was so friendly and funny. The frozen blue Marg was def worth a try as well. Hidden little gem.
Decided to try based on the reviews. It did not disappoint. A solid 4 star joint. Excellent chips and salsa, fajita tacos were a bit dry but good, the enchiladas were very good and the chicken tortilla soup was perfect.
Do not be fooled by their modest exterior, this is fine interior (and exterior) Mexican food at its best. The frozen margaritas are of the caliber only found in snobbier settings: not too sweet, excellent texture and taste. My waitress, Sidney, has been superb. Helping me decide between the two distinct but equally delicious looking poblanos—and they have Pozole! There is love in this food, and as a seasoned patron of Mexican restaurants across Texas, this hidden gem is absolutely one of the few I consider the finest. …A word about the atmosphere: if you are not in the mood for posing with supermodels at some of the hip, central and overrun upscale Mexican restaurants but want the same quality food/ drink, sans the ‘scene’ you have come to the right place!
Pozole is impeccable! Kathy was a great server! Chipotle margarita was so unique and delicious!
This is my absolute favorite traditional Mexican restaurant in Austin. The service is phenomenal, food is fantastic and they even have a Mariachi band on Fridays. Chavelo is always there providing me with the best dinner service, and anytime I have a friend come visit I make sure to take them for a delicious lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!
Went here for the first time in probably 10 years yesterday and the food was just as good as I remember it. The wife and I turned to each other and said we need to come back here more often. Can't day enough about the quality interior Mexican you get here. Also the blue margaritas are as good as ever.
Excellent service and tasty food! I only was able to try the tea, chips, and large appetizer, but the waitress was extremely accommodating and kind 😀

About as Solid as it gets....Located in a strip mall, outside doesn't look like much, but inside is nice and clean...Promptly seated and ordered our go-to chips, Salsa and Queso....Salsa was the bomb, spicy yet extremely addictive...and a spoon full or two in the queso was great addition...Sticking to our guns when we first hit a new joint we both order the enchiladas....Wife with the Beef topped with Chipotle sauce, which was smokey and had a great little kick...I went with chicken (yay--they use the whole bird) topped with Green sauce. Chicken was top notch, moist with great flavor and the sauce was great tasting...We both enjoyed the rice and the re-fried beans hit the spot...Well worth the visit, but likely we will hit the 5th street location and check out the roof top area
I have been coming here for many years. the food and service are always great and consistent. love their mole and traditional TexasMex dishes also. great blue margarita also. Esteban at the bar will always treat you well.
I always get the fish, the spices and sauces, the fresh avacados and the hearty black beans are the perfect complement!
Comfy, nice and so good!
