Ive been coming here since I was, literally, a baby and in all that time I think I've deviated from the fish tacos maybe twice. That's not a knock on any menu items but more of a telling factoid about how good the fish tacos are. I think they might an appetizer and not an entrée but oh well, they're the best fish tacos I've ever had in the United States.
Z'Tejas free cornbreads and I love it. Arbor location is very pretty the patio oversees the beautiful side of Austin. Chicken fried steak is me and my hubby's fav however cornbread is the best. We usually come and eat here to watch ball games and we always end up eating same dish over and over again!!!
I like Z. A great atmosphere and have not been disappointed yet re food/ service. Been there 4 X.

The staff was accommodating with my request to sit outside with our large group. Quick service with the drinks and food order. Love the variety on the menu- it's a Tex-Mex, fun and unique menu! Thank goodness. The outside dining was perfect during the sunset. Can't wait to go back.
Ztejas finally steps it up!. My husband, granddaughter and I went to ZTejas this morning for a late brunch and we were all very satisfied with our whole experience. The last few times we have tried going to Ztejas the service has been so bad that we haven't even tried to go back for over 3 months. However, this morning, we had a charismatic, sweet and on-the-ball waitress who was surprisingly still in training but she was far better than any waitress we have probably ever had at ZTejas. I am very pleased to see that ZTejas is FINALLY hiring a more attentive, friendly and informative wait staff that actually cares about customer service. We live less than 2 miles from the arboretum location and I can say with confidence that we will definitely be going back. The food speaks for itself and now that the service is up to par, we will make it one of our regular spots again.
Different view on Mexican. Visiting Austin and tried Z'Tejas and had a great meal. Son enjoyed his Diablo pasta daughter liked her vegetarian sandwich (it was piled high). Staff did a fantastic job of pleasing my wife who cannot handle spicey, so they re-made her Caesar salad and gave her the option of another dressing to allow her a non-spicey option (great save Z'Tejas) and my smoked chicken chilie relleno was a great dish all in all a great meal.
YUMMY!. I was impressed by this food. This food has great seasoning and great service.
Z'Good!. We had a great view, great happy hour food and drinks. Z'well be back!

Always my first stop when I visit Austin!. Z'Tejas is probably the restaurant I miss the most since I've left Austin.
The atmosphere is funky but romantic. The service is always outstanding. The menu has something for everyone and the food is delicious!
The Barbacoa Tostada dish is probably my favorite on the menu.
The restaurant can be a little bit pricey if you're trying to eat on a budget, bit it's worth the extra cash!
The food was okay. I feel like I paid too much for macaroni and cheese.
Great atmosphere with an affordable menu for almost everyone. They have a gorgeous patio view on the side of a cliff with umbrellas and a large covered section as well for shade. The food was good and they had a great selection of margaritas. I would say that it appears upscale but they have a great kid's menu and you should feel welcome in anything from casual attire to business dress.
Wonderful experience! We sat on the patio and it was perfect! Ordered the steak street tacos which came with avocado slices on top. Husband ordered the smothered burrito and said the chicken was very flavorful. Tuesdays they have half priced margaritas. Wonderful atmosphere, food, drinks, and service.
Great Mexican Martinis! I have had good customer service and always been served fresh food quickly. I really enjoyed the smoked chicken chile relleno, a nice twist on a classic dish.
Z'Tejas is a delicious choice for Southwestern Food and is situated in the beautiful Arboretum. Everything I had, from the complimentary cornbread they serve (in lieu of bread or chips and salsa) to the yucca fries to the grilled salmon was excellent. I highly recommend the salmon dish with the perfectly cooked fish and tasty Mexican rice and sautéd veggies. Our waiter was extremely friendly as well. But probably the best part was the view! Definitely try to sit on the patio if you can, and enjoy the view of the hills
Been eating at Z'Tejas for years, never had a bad meal in all that time. Their chorizo stuffed pork tenderloin is the best as is the chicken fried ribeye. Always check out happy hour and the Margaritas, they are awesome.
Z’Tejas was the perfect Sunday afternoon lunch. The outdoor patio was beautiful with a great view. Wait staff was helpful, knew the menu well. Really appreciated being able to order from brunch or dinner menu. The mushroom enchiladas were incredible. Also really enjoyed the rice, great texture & flavor.
It has been a long time since I’ve been to Z-Tejas and the first for this location which has a great patio overlooking the 360/Arboretum area. The food alone maybe would have gotten 3 stars with the chicken being tough and a little dry. Also, the food took a long time to arrive. I gave it 4 stars because of the great time with friends. The queso and guac were good as was the margarita. I miss the old Z-Tejas off Parmer but had a great time last night.
Z'Tejas is just awesome, our go to when we are looking for a nice dinner for the family. The Combination fajitas is a favorite (steak and shrimp), along with their a-la-carte tacos for just pure explosions of flavor and deliciousnous. Pair it with their Margaritas, and you got a winning combination! I really wish I could get their seasonal fig dessert, that thing blew my mind when I had it like 10 or so years ago!
It is a wonderful place especially to host parties. I was here for a company event and the food was amazing and the waiters were really friendly and took care of everyone. The seating was ample and there were heaters for outdoors. The parking is another story though - give the valet a try but good luck finding parking, it is really hard. The drinks are great and the appetizers were good too. I’ll definitely recommend.
Perfect date night spot! Absolutely delicious. We had a little of everything: appetizers, drinks, meal and dessert and it was all great. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were awesome and are taking necessary precautions during Covid to protect staff and customers.
