Awesome food, great beer selection, awesome servers with a little bit of sass, and wine wednesday. Come hungry and thirsty and enjoy the patio and live music. Chicken masala and garlic naan for life!

For some reason, I was avoiding this place! What a mistake. Went last night and ordered the grilled chicken with cilantro lime curry sauce and basmati rice bowl. Our entire party enjoyed their meal and sitting outside on the patio was lovely. We will return. Indoors had nice music and a good vibe.

he ambiance is brilliant strong nods to the continence store it once was from retro neon sign to the commercial refrigerators full of beer for take away. . The food brilliant several vegan choices . My flexitarian mates assure the CMT dims on par with ant east-end curry hut and yes this is a high compliment. Enough beer and ales for any taste. Servers are amazingly fast attentive. The parking easy . A first choice

One of my favorite bars in Austin. Really good Indian style food, a great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere both inside and out. I've noticed that there has been some turn over in staff, but they always seem to hire good folks. Wait staff is friendly and will let you try before you buy. Final point if you are just looking for a to-go beer and wine selection they also have you covered with an excellent selection of craft, both local and not.

This Indian restaurant has one of the coolest vibes in Austin. The food is North Indian centric. Don’t go there if you want to experience a really authentic south Indian food. Prefer entrees and appetizers over biryanis. I couldn’t say less about their bar with a wide variety of locally crafted and commercially available beers, wines.

The best tiki masala! The ambiance is really nice, like a dive type of bar, lots of drink selections. You order food at the front and seat yourself.

We ordered the Whipin platter. It came with with an underwhelming amount of meat that was mostly dry. We also ordered the hummus which was very good. The credit card machine wasn't working which we weren't informed of until after we ordered. I tried to order a side of Tikka Masala as it says you can get a side for a dollar on the on the online menu, but was told I could only buy it by the pint for 5 dollars. The beer and wine selection is great for a reasonable price. Hoping it was just an off night.

2020 update: So much has changed and not in a bad way. Outside area is the same but the inside is completely redone. The actual bar is the same but everything else is different. Still a great spot to get a good drink. Kitchen still good as well. *Original post: The Whip In is original Austin, before it was cool. This bar/beer store/restaurant is always a good option. No matter what your taste in beer there is something for everyone. The inside seating usually has live music but there's plenty of room on the back porch as well

The Chef, Yogesh, is a star. His food never disappoints. The food is AMAZING. And Grace is super nice. This is a hidden gem. Come eat, drink, and enjoy a warm and welcoming vibe.

Had dinner here. Ordered several plates. Everything was so delicious. Top notch. A definite must eat. I'm looking forward to eating there again. All the food was fantastic.

The place was not busy. We sat at the bar and the service was great. They have a great selection of beer. The food was really good. Can't wait to go back.

This Indian food in last few years has been consistently most excellent!! Both vegan and non vegan choices that are big portions, and use fresh ingredients, it is so good it taste & feels like homemade flavorful food that is made with love and don’t forget the naan comes out hot soft fluffy as if it was freshly baked. I really appreciate and taste so much better because menu items are not greasy or not cook with not a lot of oil in their hot dishes, which can be an annoying and unhealthy issue with other Indian restaurants food. I Love that you can shop for a bottle of wine and enjoy a glass with your meal and cork up what you don’t drink take bottle to take home.
