Sams Italian in Augusta Maine is not as good as years ago. We walked in and it feels over 100° in the restaurant. Ordered the food & had bout 30 min wait. Got our pizzas and there is chuncks of fat on the bacon and pineapple also some bacon on my hamburg (only) pizza. Maybe today is just an off day, I hope so. Also, my stepfathers ziti meatball meal comes w only one flavorless meatball.

My family ordered 2 sandwich platters nearly 24 hours beforehand for a housewarming party when show up at the time we were scheduled for and they just panicked and said they could do them in ten minutes. It took a lot longer than 10 minutes and we had to get food somewhere else. We were really looking forward to these sandwiches because they are really good amd they were the main course of our party.

Starting to wonder about the bread.
When I go in the store and order, everything is fresh. If I order to go, I swear, they get rid of old stale bread for Italians to go.
The staff is awesome and professional however, the bread is always stale when I order to go. Why?

Sam's is great if you want Italian food. I always get ham Italians and pizza. Authentico! I have a friend named Sam. He likes to pretend he owns the place. He does not!

Picked up two sandwiches, one with tomato sauce. Placed upside down in the bag we had to fish through tomato sauce to pull these out. They did taste very good though
