First of all The Hive is a great place to kick back and drink some great craft brews and eat some great food with friends. The Hive is not the kind of place you go to watch the game. It is a great place to hang out and socialize with friends, or make friends. As my friend Amy said, Augusta really needed a place like The Hive with so many craft brews.
My trip to the Hive was through a Yelp event, The BrewVenture. Natasha put together a really fun time. There wasn't a frowning face to be found. Tried some tasty cuisine, had some good brews and met people I had only seen online. It's nice when a online social media site can come together and you can actually meet with others you've only seen profile pics of before.
The folks at The Hive presented us with some great treats. Popcorn with a little spicy kick, great for snacking on with friends over a few beers.
Boiled peanuts made with beer broth, brown sugar, sea salt and fresh herbs. Truly a southern delicacy.
Fried Pickles that are housemade from a apple cider vinegar brine, lightly battered and served with a smokey dill aioli. I could eat them all day!
Sweet sausages with housemade toasted bread. I recommend dipping the bread in the sauce the sausages are sautéed in, wrapping the bread around the sausage and then going to sweet sausage heaven!
We were given flights of just a few of 70+ brews and other beverages. The Fuzzy Wuzzy, The Cat Power, Bell's porter and Red Brick Casual IPA. All delicious and unique. I recommend you try them all!
I dragged my wife to the event, she really needed something positive lately. We ordered a basket of fried pickles (I told you I loved them) and some poutine. We ordered the poutine with a poached egg on top, which I highly recommend. Their poutine is the best I have even had! The poached egg drives it from a homerun to a grand slam. So delicious and smile inducing.
The Event was so much fun. I can't wait to see what Natasha has for future events!!!
This was our first visit and we loved it! The food was amazing and the sangria to die for. I highly recommend The Hive. Love the atmosphere, too!
