Downtown Deli

Literally one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Me and my fiancée walked in 5 minutes before close not realizing what time it was. They let us in, where very patient with us despite not knowing the menu, and even told us we were fine to sit for a half hour to eat even though they were closed by the time we paid and sat down. The staff there are really friendly and laid back, and talked to us while we ate. And that’s not even mentioning the food! I tried their Hamburger soup, chicken caesar salad, and the Tammy’s wrapper. The hamburger soup and the chicken caesar salad were literally the best I’ve ever had. My fiancée got the Will’s home at last, and we were amazed at how great their bread tastes. The quality definitely justifies the price, I have eaten many places and rarely am I ever this blown away by a restaurant. We’ll most definitely be back!

Downtown deli is Amazing, they helped us out with our rehearsal dinner, we needed a place to gather and the owner was kind enough to close the shop and let us all get together there. His aunt made some amazing sweets. And the sauce he cooked the sausage & meatballs in was delicious. Any catering needs make sure you reach out to downtown deli.

Sandwich was fantastic, will definitely be back! The only reason for not giving a full 5 stars is that they are a bit disorganized. I watched a wrong order go out because the woman called out the order by the name of the sandwich, and not the person's name written on the order. Why on Earth would you do that? From the descriptions I heard, there were even major differences in the prep of the two orders, one was cold and one was hot. You couldn't have said "hot Garcia?", instead of just "Garcia?" Take out 101: Do not give somebody the wrong order. Ever. It is inexcusable. Why ask for a name and then not use it, ruining lunch for two customers? If you take a name, use the darn name! I watched them do the same thing with a bunch of orders being made for people eating in, using just the name of the sandwich, causing instant confusion because people had similar orders. While I was there they also forgot to make a ticket for a customer waiting in-house. She had to step forward when she saw other customers being served before her. Nobody was mad, it was all polite and smiles, but this is also inexcusable. As a long time food service professional, it was really hard to watch. If you are backing orders off the far end of your ticket rack, and losing track of what has been filled, stop taking orders for 5 minutes, and facilitate whatever other processes need facilitating. No one will care about the 5 minutes, and you will get food out the door. Piling up orders is not the main job, getting food efficiently, and correctly, out the door is. I will still go back, it really was REALLY good, but this was a clear case of standing on their own tail.

Great customer service. Took a little longer than expected to make our meal as they were prepping a large take-out order. But, I really enjoyed my steak and cheese sub, only wish that I put mayo or something on it - would probably put it over the top. My wife on the other-hand thought her chicken salad panini was a little dry and lacked flavor. Her preference is still subway, but I like supporting local businesses so I'll probably go back for myself.
