Connie's Tex Mex

Saturday evening. Time for Mexican food. Connie's Tex Mex in Auburn sounded like a good spot. Informal is an understatement when describing the atmosphere here. Walk in, grab a menu and sit down. The waiter/cook/cashier will be out in a minute. I'd you are so inclined grab your drinks from the case or Pepsi products on fountain. We had a small guacamole to go with the complimentary chips and hot (by NY standards) salsa. Very good but small. Dinner for the wife was Le Mejor, a chicken chalupa and cheese enchilada. Served with rice and black beans. Very generous portion and well spiced. I had two enchiladas, steak with Texanna sauce. Also generous portions but with rice, guacamole salad, and a side of refried beans. Overall a great meal. My only complaint is the usual, no brewed tea, but they did have bottled.

1st time visiting in over a year, since the new owners took over, food was good, some things r loaded w/onions, so if you're not into them, ask 1st B4 ordering. Place was dead-late afternoon, order for two took what seemed like a little longer than expected, but maybe that's a good thing that they're preparing fresh. Def will be back, don't know why we waited so long.
