It was delicious! Our server Billy was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable about the wine list and food! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Wonderful staff and service! Friendly, observant as they catered to our needs! The food was was delicious as well. They were flexible and prepared my dish special per my request Great place for fine dining with the family or that special someone! Thank you La Grotta and Staff!
Hands down the best Restaurant experience i've ever had. The food is incredible and the staff is amazing. Cannot wait to come back.
We dined here on 28 August 2023.
The La Grotta is carrying a dress code, which we find very appropriate for a nice place like this. We arrived in our Lyft Lux, and even though it was a nice series 5 BMW, it still seemed small compared to the other cars there. No doubt that this is an upscale restaurant.
We found our way into the building and down in the cellar, where the restaurant is located. Very nice atmosphere up front.
The people in front of us got greeted by first name, so it is obvious that the locals are returning diners - which is always a good indication of a good restaurant.
We were also well received even though we were first timers. We were shown to our table and immediately we were greeted by our main waiter. A vey nice, polite, knowledgeable, professional waiter who was not afraid to recommend a few courses. Two other waiters served us as well, and they were all of the same caliber.
La Grotta has a full bar, so your imagination is the limit for what you want as aperitif. We chose an Aperol Spritze. Very nicely mixed.
La Grotta has an extensive wine list with a focus on Italian wines but basically covering the world. The price range goes from about 50 USD for a bottle of wine to 1,000+ USD - so there is a wine for all sizes of wallets. We found a very nice bottle for about 90 USD.
The menu is quite extensive covering all the Italian specialties you can think off. We had a difficult time choosing from the many delicious choices. With a little help from the waiter we however managed.
We ordered each a starter and a main course - and we shared a dessert - a wonderful Tiramisu.
We were lucky dining at La Grotta in the black truffle season - tasted superb.
This is definitely a place to dine if you are in Atlanta.
The service is top top level. Food is great. Truffle options are nice item to have to experiment.
Great vibes, the food is very fresh and service was fantastic. Highly recommend the risotto and the tiramisu.
There is valet parking or a garage parking just down the street.
LOVE this place! My boyfriend and I went here for our first time and it was definitely an amazing experience. We are young, so we’ve never experienced a fancy 5 star restaurant before. We took an elevator down to the cellar where the restaurant is. The place gave me ratatouille vibes, in such a good way! Our waiter was super nice and he didn’t mind recommending the best options, which I really appreciated since it was our first time. I picked out what he recommended and LOVED it! The gnocchi and ravioli was sooo good! Will definitely be back again!
I’ve heard so many great things about La Grotta and my boyfriend took me for an early valentines dinner. I was so excited for this. First of all, they have valet parking, you go inside and take elevator all the way down. We were sat down as soon as we arrived (reservations only) our waiter’s name was Billy and he is probably one of the best waiters I’ve ever had!!! He was very helpful and guided us through the entire menu along with great recommendations. I had wild bore and it was a 10/10 my bf had a thick cut of veal also amazing!! But my absolute favorite thing about La Grotta was the dessert, the BEST tiramisu and torta I have ever tried.
This place is hidden inside a old apartment and the path to the restaurant is very dingy. Sat outside with pretty lights and heaters. They have most of dishes in both appetizers portion as well as main portion. The wine list was extensive. They have specials for every night and also their regular menu. The food was good, all of it was very fresh. The tiramisu was little too strong for my liking. They have complimentary parking.
How did this place not win a Michelin star in Atlanta? La Grotta has been here for over four decades and hosted countless celebrities for an amazing Italian dining experience. This is my go-to place for a special occasion and for many others it is a regular dining venue. The only thing I will say is that I wish they would enforce the dress code.

Great restaurant! Would have given them 5 stars if they has more vegetarian options..
Very nice atmosphere for a fine dining experience. I was there for a special occasion (New Year's Eve) so there was a set menu but choices to choose from for all tastes.
Warm and cold appetizers, soups and salads too. I had gnocchi with white wine sauce and shaved black truffles. Best gnocchi I've eaten...ever!
For the entree I had a rare cooked filet that was one of the best and softest fillets I've ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection since many times in restaurants when you order a rare steak it's not so rare. This was seared on the outside and perfect on the inside.
For this special night on the dessert menu was figgy toffee pudding. The Tiramisu which is a standard dessert, both were delightful.
This is a top Notch restaurant that is a dining experience to be savored and enjoyed, don't rush through your meal. The service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive, knowing when to let you enjoy your meal and when they were needed for service.
The EXTENSIVE wine list may require a deeper dive on return visits.
