I've been here a dozen times. It's consistent and delicious. The matzo ball soup is my favorite in town. I recently ordered an egg salad BLT (off the menu) and it does not disappoint.
You can find Gruby's New York Deli at 860 Johnson Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30342 in Sandy Springs near Northside Hospital. There's also a Subway and Moe's in the same shopping center, but I'm not sure why you would eat at either with Gruby's nearby. Parking in the lot is quite busy, I believe mostly due to the UPS Store but luckily there's additional parking in the back.
Delicious veggie omelet with potatoes!
Gruby's Review. We like the food here. My husband loves the fatty corned beef on rye. I love the turkey rubin on rye. He loves the potato salad and cole slaw. I love the cole slaw. We eat here about once a month.
Great Place! Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about!. Wow! I am very impressed! I ordered a to-go at 12 in the middle of the lunch rush and my food was ready in less than 5 min. People are upset about parking and it is a small lot with a Moe's and Great Wrap's so of course it might be hard finding a space. I got the Matt's special and it was melt in your mouth good!!! My Boss suggested the deli to me and its on the expensive side, but it's worth it because of the quality. Service was also very friendly!
Finally!! Best reuben south of SoHo and North of Boca!
Well i love it, in other restaurants that i have been into it takes at least 15 to place an order, i went there and i came out, in less then 30 min, it was great! i love the service ,, my server, she was awesome (marie)... she even ask me for refills to go , lunck was totally pack, but anyways i had a great expierence!
For a deli, this is one of the best. Food, service and atmosphere were great. Staff was attentive and friendly. Nice level of background noise (play video). Great photos around the restaurant to look at. My Greek omelette was great, same with my wife’s 1/2 turkey sandwich and chicken noodle soup special. I did inadvertently get a bagel upgrade that I couldn’t finish, and took home. A little hard to find, tucked in a plaza, and parking in the lot could be an issue at peak times.
If u have a hearty appetite, the Gruby burger and fries will fill you up. I could only eat half but finished the rest later. Better than Five Guys imo. Only thing I would change is the meat didn't taste seasoned so I added salt and pepper. Next time, I will ask them to season the meat before cooking.
Great service. This is a family friendly diner with a local feel. The waitress knew everyone's name and even greeted us as old friends. We drove 30 minutes because we wanted old fashion new york deli sandwiches and that is what we got. I had the Ruben the wife and an open face sandwich. The food was great, but if you are a big guy like me don't be afraid to get the huge. It's worth it. We are definitely coming back and I am definitely getting the huge sandwich next time.
The sandwiches here do not disappoint. If you get a sandwich, try the Brooklyn bridge. You will be very pleased 😄
**Review for Gruby’s NY Deli: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️**
After our doctor’s appointment, we decided to give Gruby’s NY Deli a try for breakfast and were utterly delighted! The omelettes and bagels were impeccable in taste and surprisingly great value for money. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we found ourselves back for lunch the very next day. The #8 and #10 sandwiches were a hit, and splitting them between us was the perfect decision. Both were simply superb. If you're looking for authenticity and value, Gruby’s is the place to be. Highly recommended!
My husband and I rarely go out to eat. Stopped for breakfast after doctors appointments and enjoyed everything about the food and service. We decided to come back for lunch the next day.
The bagels are SO good and were served warm. The omelets were perfection. I even likes the grits - as a Northern girl, that is an impressive feat!! For lunch we split the #8 (hot corned beef and pastrami on rye)and the #10 ( turkey club) - both were fantastic!! Cannot wait to eat here again. Thanks!!
So for starters you want to eat here. Everything I had was great.
We ordered the corned beef omelette and a ham egg and cheese on a kaiser roll.
For those of you from New York this place has real raw sandwiches. Now the ones in NY are better but for Atlanta they are great. The eggs were slightly runny and the kaiser roll was nice and chewy.
The corned beef omelette was great and went will the side of potatoes. You also choose a second side. I chose a bagel after he said they make them in New York almost done and finished the baking here. The bagel was chewy and soft. It's not a New York bagel so don't get your hopes up but it was very good.
In the old Zagat days I could rate service separate from food but I cannot do that here. There was 1 waiter bussing 9 tables. He was really good and personable but you need more that 1 server for 9 tables. So out service was a little slow
Otherwise expect a great place to eat. I will return.
Edit.
Camera here again and was not let down. Good service and good food. I didn’t see any open WiFi.
I’ll start off with the positive: They make a damn good sandwich. I got the Twin Towers, and it tastes so good. The soft bread, the sauce, and the meat all come together prettt well. The lady with the glasses who made my sandwich, she deserves a raise
The not so good: $17 for a sandwich is expensive. This is ATL, not NYC. I’d eat there everyday if the sandwich was $10.
Very limited parking at lunch hour.
Lastly, the old guy at the register was a bit of a Scrooge. Maybe he had a case of the Mondays.
Overall, I would say try it.
Stumbled upon this gem dropping off something at UPS. Order the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich and dice potatoes and it was delicious! Ed was my waiter and provided top tier service on an early Tuesday morning!
Best Pastrami sandwich hands down. The slaw and Cucumber Salad are soooo good! Rosie, our server was awesome!
