Oh. My. God. This place is good. Super quirky atmosphere which initially had me questioning what kind of food we'd be served. It was amazing. 100% exceeded any expectations I had. Our family of four (mom, dad, 17 and 11-year-old children) loved our food. I was completely enthralled watching the cook expertly prepare our meals. He was like a magician. The food is very fresh - the cook was chopping the vegetables and cracking eggs for the orders placed. This spot is teeny tiny and we almost didn't come in. We have a road trip to NorCal coming up and our 11-year-old asked if the Columbian Cafe was on the way (sadly, it's not). Our server was attentive and polite, but the real star was the cook.

If you're an adventurous eater like I am get the chef's double mercy. You tell them any allergies or aversions and the level of spicy you want and the chef will make you whatever he feels like. Words cannot properly express how delicious this was and how excitedly I devoured it. Highly recommend.

I like their power of tower. Their beans need flavor in that dish but it's a fantastic price for the amount of protein you get which keeps me coming back. Also the atmosphere and staff is incredibly friendly and at home, it's a Portland vibe and it feels very chill.

Love this hole in the wall restaurant! Loads of tasty vegetarian options plus seafood. Hope to be back soon...

If you love soul food this is the place for you. Chef cooks out front as if entertaining in your home. The waitress is your family proudly serving the meal. Don't expect eggs and toast traditionally served. Try eggs served over homemade hash. Amazing combination of veges and meat. The toast is served with a sampler of cayenne, jalapeno, garlic jellies. Also served with salsa. 4 bench seating areas, and sit at the bar. Excellent vegan to meat eater selections. Walk into a new experience. Once you see the menu, and taste what the chef does with food, you will become a regular. I am bringing all my guests here. A foodie paradise.

Always Delicious! Service is always good. It’s not a “hip” atmosphere it’s no one is rude as some others have stated. It’s a place that is at its own pace, don’t be rude and don’t be loud. Stay off your phones and enjoy the food. Y’all are the best, the one star reviews can kick rocks!

Solid delicious food, small menu which is great. Super cute little quirky place.

So here’s the thing- if you are in a hurry to get on with your day this might not be the best choice: it’s a small place there is often a wait for a table. Add the fact that there is only one cook putting together the plates on a TINY flattop and you’re waiting for a while, bub.
That said- all three of us at the the table said this was the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. Wonderful, fresh ingredients, inventive combinations and fun presentation. We will absolutely return.

A new favorite breakfast spot on planet earth. Homemade spicy jellies, toast, and coffee served immediately to offset any hunger and wake up the palate. Highly recommended to do the Chef's Mercy, in which you leave it up to the chef to make whatever his instincts speak to him, depending on your preference for vegan/vegetarian/meat/seafood/or all of the above...with food allergies honored too. It's an exercise in both adventure and reflection, and your trust in voodoo love and magic. And the omelettes are legitimately hand rolled and incredible aside from that.
