I was craving for Paella and searched on Google maps what is the one if the best places that serves paella. And Google suggested this place. Luckily, my sister joined me if not I will be so full eating the whole pan of paella. We ordered cold tapas - the boquerones con aguacate - white anchovies with avocado puree. At first it won't cut our starving bellies but it was delicious. Our paella came around 30 minutes later which may take too long but it was worth the wait. We had the Paella Mixta, a delicious mix of seafood and poultry. Every bite was good! Again, I thought the serving wasn't enough but we were FULL! such a great meal! I recommend not eating by yourself. The paella is not made for one person.

Excellent food and service. Paella perfectly made tapas were the garlic pork loin thin sliced but still moist. Come enjoy you won't be sorry!

Friendliest staff crew! Hands down! Went for the Wednesday paella 🥘 specials. $24 for any type of paella. Cute outdoor dining, all staff wearing mask. Paella was flavorful but be nicer if they had used shelled prawns

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! All of the tapas are delicious and exquisite. I highly recommend the Croquetas de Serrano. They are packed with amazing flavor! The Tables are each and every one delectable. You absolutely must try the Paellas. Staff and location are friendly and excellent respectively.

So happy that La Rioja finally opened for outdoor dining. They always have the best tapas and authentic Spanish food. It was absolutely delicious. We had 3 of my all time favorite dates with bacon, the patatas bravas nom nom, camarones al ajillo, pulpo gallego was very tender and jamón serrano. Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best restaurants in Astoria!!!

One of the best paella places in Astoria! The tapas and the sangria! I can bet you have never had one like the one made by Alex "Chamo" ! Accompany a great meal with great service you are sure to have a great time!

We had a great time . The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. It’s a family place and cozy. We had the ink paella and it was moist and delicious . Also a few other appetizers. I didn’t like the croquetas much, a bit mushy . However the sangria was great. I’ll order half a pitcher next time. The attention was great and the waiters were attentive. Overall a great first time experience.

This is a go to place for tapas and wine. They sport a good paella that is seasoned perfectly and are very decent portions. The staff are friendly and attentive and speak both English and Spanish. The location is convenient and accessible and has a mellow and friendly ambience. Good for dining solo or going as a group.

Very good Spanish food with an ample variety of the menu, pleasant native music, great tasting house wines and attentive service. Only con I found is that tables are not set up within the recommended social distance. I recommend this restaurant.

Visited La Rioja for my grandmother’s 65th birthday. We enjoyed 4 Paella’s including one vegetarian one I was extremely impressed with! Definitely worth the wait and a fun environment to spend time with family and catch up over drinks and tapas. Lovely experience and very accommodating staff. Vegetarian options!!
