I was craving for Paella and searched on Google maps what is the one if the best places that serves paella. And Google suggested this place. Luckily, my sister joined me if not I will be so full eating the whole pan of paella. We ordered cold tapas - the boquerones con aguacate - white anchovies with avocado puree. At first it won't cut our starving bellies but it was delicious. Our paella came around 30 minutes later which may take too long but it was worth the wait. We had the Paella Mixta, a delicious mix of seafood and poultry. Every bite was good! Again, I thought the serving wasn't enough but we were FULL! such a great meal! I recommend not eating by yourself. The paella is not made for one person.

Excellent food and service. Paella perfectly made tapas were the garlic pork loin thin sliced but still moist. Come enjoy you won't be sorry!

Friendliest staff crew! Hands down! Went for the Wednesday paella š„ specials. $24 for any type of paella. Cute outdoor dining, all staff wearing mask. Paella was flavorful but be nicer if they had used shelled prawns

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! All of the tapas are delicious and exquisite. I highly recommend the Croquetas de Serrano. They are packed with amazing flavor! The Tables are each and every one delectable. You absolutely must try the Paellas. Staff and location are friendly and excellent respectively.

So happy that La Rioja finally opened for outdoor dining. They always have the best tapas and authentic Spanish food. It was absolutely delicious. We had 3 of my all time favorite dates with bacon, the patatas bravas nom nom, camarones al ajillo, pulpo gallego was very tender and jamĆ³n serrano. Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best restaurants in Astoria!!!

We had a great time . The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Itās a family place and cozy. We had the ink paella and it was moist and delicious . Also a few other appetizers. I didnāt like the croquetas much, a bit mushy . However the sangria was great. Iāll order half a pitcher next time. The attention was great and the waiters were attentive. Overall a great first time experience.

This is a go to place for tapas and wine. They sport a good paella that is seasoned perfectly and are very decent portions. The staff are friendly and attentive and speak both English and Spanish. The location is convenient and accessible and has a mellow and friendly ambience. Good for dining solo or going as a group.

Very good Spanish food with an ample variety of the menu, pleasant native music, great tasting house wines and attentive service.
Only con I found is that tables are not set up within the recommended social distance. I recommend this restaurant.

Visited La Rioja for my grandmotherās 65th birthday. We enjoyed 4 Paellaās including one vegetarian one I was extremely impressed with! Definitely worth the wait and a fun environment to spend time with family and catch up over drinks and tapas. Lovely experience and very accommodating staff. Vegetarian options!!

My friends and I found this place after a show and what an Amazing Find! The music in the background was at a perfect level and the atmosphere was as if we were among friends. We were given the special of getting the crespelle with ricotta and it was delicious!!...we ordered other different items which were out of this world. My friends and I have been to various tapas restaurants but this one made it to the top of the list. Sangria was perfect and everything else was outstanding. We will definitely be coming back!

Came in expecting to be let down, but fell in love.
Sangria, so delicious Iām usually not a fan since each time I had it they either make it to sweet or to much alcohol š·. It had the balance of both.
The octopus appetizer was so delicious, fresh octopus with a light season.
We also had the black squad Noddles, I had never had such a meal but was very impressed.
You have to try this place, and they service so great, the older man behind the bar was making sure our waiter was on point with our meals and drinks. Well worth the money, cant wait to come back. Thank you!

I have been to the rioja resturant twice this month. the tapas are very tasty. the same goes for the paella, was so delicious, good for two persons. the sangria was exceptional. We had a great time, the staff is courteous. Highly recommend.

One of the best Spanish tapas restaurant in NY! The paella is excellent here, with awesome authentic Spanish foods! I always get the red sangria, but the white is awesome as well! Not your typical sangria

The food is great and the service was amazing. Been to Spain many times and when I eat here Iām taken back to my favorite local spot in Barcelona. I definitely recommend if you want a taste of Spain.

Amazing place for tapas in Astoria. Everything we ate was simple delicious. Beginning with the bread then the shrimp in garlic sauce, the octopus (so tender), dates with bacon (yummy) and several more tapas including the anchovies (give them a try) which also were reeeally good!!!
We enjoy also a pitcher of withe sangria (my first time) and let me tell you it was delicious.
The service was excellent. Always attentive and ready to explain any questions about the menu.
I recommend this place. One of my favorites in Astoria....
