We had a nice lunch on a Friday, in September 2023 at Drifters Riverfront Bar & Grill. We sat at a nice window seat down stairs, over looking the docks and the river. There was even a nice view of the bridge. I will keep this review to the downstairs itself, as we never went up onto the rooftop bar.
We arrived and went into the dining room downstairs, where we were told to seat ourselves. We chose the window seat as the river and such view, gave it a nice atmosphere. We had a wonderful waitress named Cat. She was a delight to meet and be our server.
The wife ordered clams and I went with chicken wings and a nice cold Yuengling. The food was pretty good. So yes we would return when in the area. I made the mistake of ordering ten wings, which filled my belly. But had I only ordered five wings, I could have had a nice slice of peanut butter pie. My bad.
We sat and ate watching the water traffic, as well as the rumble when traffic crossed the bridge. We had two boats and a small personal water craft, visit the docks at drifters for some food and drink.
So we finished, paid the bill and were on our way. But silly us. We walked away and left an item in plain sight at our table. But Cat chased us out to the parking lot to make sure it was returned. I told you she was wonderful. She saved us a drive back to retrieve it. And if you read this Cat, thank you for everything.
All in all, Drifters is not perfect. But it is what we expected and went there for in the first place. It's a nice eatery with lots of character and scenery, decent food at a fair price. It's not five star dining. But its a nice place for an enjoyable meal if you prefer comfortable and enjoyable over a fancy five star experience.
My son and I drove out there to take my sister to lunch there on the St John's River. Beautiful scenery, the waitress was top notch. Very efficient. We ordered shrimp , fish platters with side of seasoned French fried potatoes. Every thing was delicious. The potatoes were also. Even the way the were cut was unique. Normally I do not care for fries. But these were very good. My sister and I had key lime pie for desert. Very good.
Poboy was gas !! Sweet potato fries are yummy and thick which I love! Didn’t wait any more than 10 minutes for my food and for that I was grateful because I was so hungry. Beautiful views while you eat too !
Been there twice so far and haven't been disappointed. The grouper finger basket I got the first time was amazing smell like seafood look like seafood it tastes like. 😜 Had to go back and try The shrimp basket and love this one too and the collard greens.
Found this little gem on a boat ride down to astor. Great little spot. Outside roof deck (not much seating) but beautiful views, does have a bar up stairs that is for 18 or older which we really enjoyed. The drinks and beer were ice cold and amazing! Highly recommend the blueberry lemon drop shots 😜 the buffalo chicken wrap was huge and great. The banana pepper app I recommend. My friend had the steak fajitas special and she said it was delicious.
Has a few boat slips also.philly cheese steak was delicious and the tuna was the best 😋
We arrived my airboat today and it wasn't busy at all.
This is a great place to eat on the water! It's a 40 min drive for us, but we try to go every 6 weeks for the grouper basket or shrimp basket, coleslaw (slightly sweet) & fries are great now (they recently changed them)! They have a variety of items, not just seafood, corned beef, burgers, wings, daily specials, upstairs bar, biker friendly.
They need a fish & shrimp combo or add on options for fish, clams, shrimp.
Bobbi S working the upstairs bar was Fantastic!
Wish we would have ordered food upstairs instead of ... eating downstairs then going upstairs for a drink. After our service downstairs, we debated going somewhere else. Thanks Bobbi ☘️
Nice, laid back restaurant on the river with some great food and great views. You can pull up on your jet skis and boats and grab a bite to eat, when you come inside, of course. Very casual dining atmosphere. Upstairs and downstairs dining, both with full bars and TVs.
I chose the upstairs bar as I was traveling alone. I ordered a dozen oysters but 'we do ours with 10' so for $17.95 for ten oysters. That is ok, they were fairly good. One or two were large but far from the best oysters, I still enjoyed them with a corona and such a beautiful view of the St Johns River. Bobbi was bartending and she was handling it feeding people, getting drinks, waiting tables, etc. She is good at this job, attractive and friendly.
Just look at that view!
I used to come when it was Blackwater Inn/Williams landing and I gotta say this reno is a welcome change.
The view is incredible as ever, the staff is still top notch, and the food is *chef's kiss*
A friend and I stopped in for lunch and we both really enjoyed our meals and our server was awesome.
Do yourself a favor, bring your friends, grab a seat, and enjoy the view.
We sure did!
