Came here for the second time for a late dinner around 930. The restaurant was still pretty packed which is a good sign. Ended up getting the hibachi this time. Hibachi chicken and shrimp with fried rice. Huge portions. Nicely done. Great service. Everything came out quick and we didn't really feel rushed which was nice.
There seemed to be some confusion on who was wanting on us since we were visited and handed off these times. Restaurant less than half full. Choose indoor or outdoor seating. We came for sushi. It came quick and was delicious. Atmosphere was average. It was good but I'd check out other venues; there are several in the area, before returning here.
Visiting Asheville for weekend getaway and decided to eat at Wasabi as they served UNI. I decided to order sushi roll, uni, sashimi, tuna tatali, and agedashi tofu. When we went there, it was crowded but does not have to wait long as there were available table right away. The food was good but not excellent. It was okay overall and would come back but the food was not like the best compare to any sushi restaurants I had visited.
This place was great! Some of the freshest sushi I've had in a long while! I'm not a big fan of tofu, but the miso soup was wonderful! My first experience with tilapia curry and its definitely worth a try!! Highly recommended!
The food was delicious, and the bartender was absolutely lovely! He helped me navigate the menu with my allergies and kept my half sweet black tea/half unsweetened green tea mix full all night!
Food and services was excellent. The Sweetheart roll is wonderful. Excellent choice for dinner.
The place is busy but was easy to find a table, the food was good.
we ordered tempura sweet potato roll which tastes great. Tried tofu appetizer which was bland but went well with soy sauce & wasabi mix, and then in entree we did vegetable fried rice. it lacked some salt and pepper, once added it was decent enough.
Atmosphere: 1/1 - Clean with Japanese decorations. Has indoor and outdoor sitting area or you can sit at the sushi bar and watch at chef work.
Service: 1/1 - welcoming and friendly staff
Price: 1/1 - Prices are similar to other sushi restaurants . Appetizers in the $5-$12 range and sushi can go from $7 for (simple roll) to $22
Food: 2/2-We had the Sweetheart roll and the vegetable dumpling soup. The roll was a very good balance of sweet, crunchy and savory. The soup broth left you wanting another bite (a 3rd dumpling would have optimized this dish). Both were delicious!
Overall: 5/5. If you’re craving some sushi or dumpling soup while in Asheville, you can’t go wrong eating here!
Great sushi, the 3 roll sushi lunch was a great deal and even though there was a misunderstanding (the waitress thought we were ordering Ala Carte and we were ordering the 3 roll lunch) it still worked out fine. Stuffed full of fish, delicious sushi for around $40. I got the eel roll, yellow fin and spicy tuna. My wife got the spicy tuna, eel roll and California roll. All were very delicious and so was the miso soup! Very savory. Will be back if we come back to town!
Happy to see that Wasabi has 'actual' red tuna dishes. One thing I have noticed about the sushi restaurants in the Mountains is the lack of Maguro (red tuna). You get a whatever fish it is, diluted with crust, and no red tuna sashimi or sushi available. Very reasonable as well. We ordered for three plus drinks, and it came out to slightly over $80 with leftovers.
