Add a 5 Star for the Music! Great location to sit back and listen to old-school country and bluegrass music. This is a must stop when there is a musician to experience the "Appalachian Hillbilly Music". We sat for the early performance from 4pm to 6pm but another begins at 9pm. Both my wife and I had shared the homemade Pretzel Knots that were great. The only problem was it only had 3 which meant 1.5 each. I could have ate at least 5 myself they were that good. They came topped with a melted garlic butter on the top and a side of cheese sauce. Both were very good, and in fact, my wife kept the leftover cheese sauce for her Patty Melt. We both had a Patry Melt on Rye that was perfect. The Rye was grilled to a slightly crispy perfection. The burger was very good...it was a great change for the typical burger. My wife said it was better than our hometown favorite diner. Trust me...that was the best compliment ever! However, the fries left a lot to be desired. They were real steak potatoes fries but simply were not very good and too large of a large portion. You can choose fries or chips with the Patty Melt...I recommend the chips. They have to be better. For drinks, my wife had the day's special which was a Moscow Mule and she said it was good but not the best she has ever had. I had a house special mixed drink that was excellent! However, I can't remember the name. It was made with Whiskey, Bitters, Cinnamon and an orange slice. It was very similar to an Old Fashion. I highly recommend if you like Cinnamon.
We were in Asheville for the evening and picked this place to go get some dinner. To our surprise there was actually live music playing that night. The band itself was great! The service was amazing! Very friendly and fun. The food was also fantastic. Overall just a really fun environment and a great spot to have some dinner and a drink and have a fun night!
A Five-Star Evening at Jack of the Woods I had the delightful opportunity to dine at Jack of the Woods in Asheville, NC, and the experience was genuinely noteworthy. Not only did it surpass my culinary expectations, but the ambiance and live music added a captivating charm that created a fantastic evening. Each dish that we tried was a masterclass in flavor and presentation, but my personal favorite was the Ruben sandwich. The ingredients were impeccably fresh, creating a symphony of tastes that was nothing short of sublime. The succulent meat, the tangy sauerkraut, and creamy Swiss cheese, perfectly encased in well-toasted bread, combined to create, without a doubt, one of the best Ruben sandwiches I've ever tasted. The drinks were similarly impressive, with the bartenders showcasing their skills with well-balanced, temperature perfect mixes. The quality of ingredients was clear from the first sip, further enhancing the dining experience. Yet, it wasn't just the fantastic food and drink that left an impression. Jack of the Woods also boasts an inviting, cozy atmosphere, further enriched by live music that set a truly lively and engaging tone for the evening. The performance added a unique touch, creating a vibe that was as enticing as the food itself. In conclusion, whether you're a resident of Asheville or a visitor, I couldn't recommend Jack of the Woods enough. From their top-notch service to the delicious dishes and drinks, and the wonderful addition of live music, they tick all the boxes for a must-visit dining spot.
