I love the food... fresh ingredients and savory spices! The owner is simply wonderful, always friendly, welcoming. We enjoy dining in the cozy cafe!
Absolutely delicious food. I crave the dumplings regularly. One person operation but the food is incredibly good and worth the wait. Nothing fancy about it but the food makes up for the austere settings.
This is one of my favorite places in all of Arlington! The Thai food here is soo yummy and the owner is very kind. The Thai sticks, scallion pancakes and tofu triangles never fail to delight me.
I've been going here since I was a kid. This place will always have a special place in my heart.
Love their Crazy Noodles. Their Pad Thai is 3 out 5. The employees are kind. Prices are great for what you get. I like getting the food "to go" as the restaurant's interior is shabby. There is some interesting decor from past ownerships that one can look at if they choose to dine in.
I absolutely love this place. It has the best tofu pad thai I have ever had and it's a nice portion, not too small or big. I also really like the vegetables rainbow (which is a Chinese dish of tofu & vegetables in brown sauce) and his tofu& vegetable soup when I just need something small to warm me up in winter when I am sick with a cold. I also love the veggie spring rolls and the scallion pancakes. As others mentioned, the interior is a little worn/shabby, and it seems most people just get stuff to go, which I do too mostly, though occasionally I eat there and it's fine. I appreciate that he lets me bring my own reusable take-out containers and adapts easily to that (I've been doing it for years and he knows the routine well). You seriously can't beat the prices, it's super cheap (I actually think he could easily raise everything by at least a dollar or two and it would still be cheaper than anywhere else). He used to have a cook, but it seems the past year or so it's just him doing everything--the phones, the register, the cooking, the serving for those sitting in. I have to say I think I prefer his cooking the most and despite all the stuff he takes on and even during the peak hours, he seems to make good time for getting food to you. If you haven't tried the place, make sure you do soon!
I love this restaurant. I have tried all of the tofu green curries in the area, and this one is the best. Thai Chili (Arlington Center) doesn't even serve green curry! The vegetables are always fresh and delicious. The owner and the cook are hardworking, courteous and extremely kind. They are a blessing for the neighborhood. This is a great place to go to if you want great food at a great price-- and you also want to support a local business.
Thailand Cafe is a great place to for inexpensive takeout or a casual lunch. This is not the place to go for the ambiance. It's also not the place to go if you're in a rush. The orders are likely to come out of the kitchen one at a time so don't plan on everyone getting served all at once.
The Pad Thai here is my favorite in the area. It compares well with the fantastic street food I've had in Thailand. Duck Choo Chee, Chicken Basil, and Massaman curry are also delicious.
In the decades I've been going here, I've had just one sub-par meal.
I ordered the pad see ew and green curry and both were excellent / very fresh. I will definitely be back!
