Westovers only bar as far as I'm concerned. All my old friends drink here and it's definitely a dive bar kind of place. Prices are good and the owner is usually cooking and will do his best to make you what you want. Been coming here for years since high school days and it's always the place to meet up with the other local folks who don't want the hype of a hipster place. Westover has grown and changed bit it's nice to sit here and relax and enjoy some friendly company. Even if you have never been there someone is gonna talk to you. My kind of place.

Just talking Friday night bar experience it was just what I wanted, a blue collar bar with karaoke. Older ladies ran the till and not many songs sang newer than 1990. Only complaint was Bud was $5 each which seemed a little high for this type of place but I guess in DC area that's as good as it gets. If you want a unpretentious place this is it.

Diner-style food in a bar-restaurant. Friendly service in a comfortable neighborhood place. Not quite Cheers, but close. We have been coming here for an occasional meal, usually breakfast or supper, for over 40 years, and it really hasn't changed much. What you get here is comfort food: nothing fancy, but satisfying. The neighborhood has definitely gotten much more upscale, but the Forest Inn has not, much to my relief.

If you’re looking for cheap food and drinks with a laid back atmosphere, this is the place. Great bar to be a regular, enjoy great conversation, and a “no-frills” place. I’m the new guy here, but always love to come out for a cheap, casual night with friendly staff/clients!

You got to give a place like this credit for accepting the role it serves in the community and running with it: keeping the local drunks occupied while you go about your business at other Westover locales. In fairness, it does have some of the cheapest beer in the area and the regulars appear to truly enjoy their time here. Avoid this place unless you've recently been fired or divorced. Then by all means, become a regular!

The only redeeming quality this place has is its food. It's very hard to find, not lit up, and even though they have signs that say no smoking people stand in the doorway with the door wide open and smoked a cigarette so that everybody else inside of the bar has to smell it. All the seats in there look old and outdated... the whole place by in large is not very good. I went there twice. Never again. Did not have a fun time the first time but I gave it a second chance. That only confirmed it to me. Stay away from this place

A well hidden dive bar tucked away in the trendy yet tiny Westover district where the occasional stray from the beer garden comes to roost. This hideout features a single nondescript door next to a hardware store, 4 tvs and 400 square feet of all day breakfast diner meets last man standing Arlington native. The experience is pretty basic. Rumor has it Friday night Kareoke is the fun time but at 400 sqft it must be a compact affair. AVOID the wings, they're breaded, fried, and overly salty with no meaningful difference between spicy and regular. Moz sticks and mac n cheese are good. Rumor is indian chef/owner makes a mean curry so watch for that special when available. 2 of 5 stars: +1 being alive, +1 Arlington locals, -1 beer price, -1 wing quality, -1 live music potential. $4 Buds and $8 Longhammers are easily beat by Clarendon's happy hour brews for $1 less. Avoiding the wings I would have awarded 3 stars.

Grew up in Crystal City. Studied at VCU. Now I come home and look for real bars, not grown up chuck-e-cheeze and mock-neighborhood-institutions turned yuppie traps. FOrest Inn is a real bar. I was there New Years day with a local West Over-er who had no idea the place existed. There were 4 bar flies cursing like sailors and a single super friendly bartender. It looks like they might get busy during breakfast hours, but other than that I'm sure the same 6 folks are likely to be in the buliding at all hours of the day and night. With the closing of Jay's saloon right around the corner, could this be Arlington's last legitimate watering hole?
