GREAT NC BBQ BEST IN DC METRO. Weenie Beenie has great North Carolina BBQ. It is the real deal with real vinegar sauce. I got the cole slaw and hot sauce topping. Now I found my fix for NC BBQ without the drive to North Carolina. The owner makes it from scratch so I found out and boy it is GOOD.
Right off 395 off the Shirlington exit, a bit challenging to get into the parking lot off four mile run or 27th street, but the traffic lets you in and boy you will love it.
A must every time I visit our summer home. Is to eat at Weenie Beanie. They have the best Eastern Carolina BBQ in Virginia. Yes. it comes from a can (I love these folks, I simple asked and they showed me the can) but it is nevertheless delicious when served so generously on a large, toasted sesame bun. And you haven't lived until you try one of their grilled cheese and bacon sandwich.
Excellent chili dogs and almost authentic eastern North Carolina BBQ - at least as good as the packaged stuff from Harris-Teeter!
Old school menu and the 10 commandments posted outside; you can tell this place is going to be great just from the looks of it. Another sign it’s great is their Bologna, egg, and cheese sandwich; where else can you get that? It’s so good. Hash browns are good. Do yourself a favor and get a sandwich from the weenie beenie.
Delicious breakfast sandwiches and good coffee. This place is well known for its fresh food and good service. I like how it is a place where blue and white collar professionals line up outside for breakfast and lunch.

Even though I grew up in the DMV, I hadn't spent much time in NoVA. After living here for a while, I was introduced to Weenie Beenie by my coworkers. I love that fact that it has a history of serving the area since 1954, and I love that you can get a half-smoke on a breakfast sandwich. There's enough parking spaces, but I wouldn't say there is much room to sit and eat around the spot if people are already eating there.
Because of the great prices and the portion size, I'll give them 4 stars. I took off one star because I ordered a chicken salad sandwich for lunch and it appeared to be a chicken that would be used in a cheesesteak covered in mayo without all the usual ingredients you'd find in a chicken salad. I may have figured this out if they had pictures displaying their food, but I'm not sure there's enough space for that on the storefront. Other than that, it's a great and classic spot that's worth a visit if you want to get a fully topped half-smoke.
Edit: They do have a few photos of menu items on their website, but they could use an update since the resolution is low.

This place was okay. We drive by it all the time and finally decided to stop. We had the meatball sub and chili cheese hot dog. They were friendly. I would go back again.
I work about 5 mins from his place and literally come here every week for lunch and get their chili dog and fries. I’ve even came for breakfast a few time and they bacon egg and cheese sandwich is amazing! Thanks for cheffing up some of the best food in town!
I had a half smoke from Weenie Beenie and I was mostly happy with it. It was cooked perfectly, and the skin cracked when I bit into it...a tell tale sign of quality. Personally I would've liked a spicier flavor but it was tasty regardless, and a great deal as well. If you're looking for a quick bite this is a good place for you.
