This place is authentic, and really serves New Orleans food. Sometimes in the North, you get a fake Cajun food place, but this is not that type of place. I spent time in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and this is right out of the French Quarter.�

OK so I love this place. I worked in the building for 13 years. The dud sandwich cafe closed and the space was empty for 3 years. I called the landlord twice to try to buy the commercial espresso machine, but no luck. Bayou has excellent espresso, the best croissants I have had outside France, and good food in many small and not-so-small bites.
