Man! You gotta try the shrimp! The catfish is decent, not the best ever. I don't know how they get those big ole shrimp this far inland while still tasting that good. I would go there even if that was the only thing on the menu. The staff is super friendly and the prices aren't bad. If you eat like I do you can expect to spend about $16 - $18 per plate but I order six shrimp and get at least 8 every time.
We came off Lake Murray hungry and when our original place to eat fell through we stumbled upon this amazing little restaurant nestled in Ardmore off the beaten track. The food was ALL amazing! It came out fast and piping hot! The waitress was super sweet and very attentive. Between four adults and four children we ordered half then menu and everything tasted wonderful! I had the homemade gumbo and it was better than the gumbo I got in New Orleans earlier this summer! The cheese sticks and cheddar peppers were hot and fresh! The fried fish was melt in your mouth delicious! So happy we decided to eat here! You should too!
Oh my chickens the food was so good. In fact, good is an understatement! The waitress was so wonderful and the service had all the southern hospitality I expected and more!

We decided to try some place different a couple weeks ago & hit this place right when they opened on a Friday. I completely understand why they are so busy most of the time. The food was fresh & seasoned perfectly, and the staff were friendly & gracious. We’ll definitely be back.

Food was fresh, ample portions, decent prices. The fried green tomatoes were really tasty. I would suggest letting people know what time the grill shuts off at night though. When I called that evening to ask questions about the menu & mentioned that I would call back to order, no one told me the grill would shut off minutes later. No one answered the phone after that. Courteous thing to do would have been to say that upfront or to answer the phone & say that they were no longer accepting orders that night. Unaware of that, I drove to the restaurant to order in person only to be told that they stop cooking 30mns prior to closing. Wasted time & wasted trip due to lack of communication. Figured I’d give it another try based on the reviews. Next visit/order went well.
The food is very good😋 … but the tartar sauce is awful😖its more like a sandwich spread not good with fish plates dinners.
