The Thayer

Adored the place. We arrived at night and the front of the hotel and the outside eating area were lit up beautifully with fairy lights and lamps. Great for pictures. We stayed in Gus' Room and it was so cute! Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. Not as haunted as I hoped though, but maybe that's because we didn't get the most haunted room. Definitely going back someday. It's a small town so don't expect to really find a lot to do.

Such a special hotel! The owners and staff were incredible, the food was amazing, the rooms were extremely comfortable, and their spirits certainly didn't disappoint either. An absolutely beautiful historical building! I commend the owners and their dedicated staff for working so hard and being so positive, despite staffing shortages and all the hardships businesses face these days. Thank you to the whole team for everything you all do for the hotel and all your guests, it truly is a remarkable place. I can't wait to come back!

Stopped in just for dinner with my kid on Saturday evening. I had the server (Courtney) order for me,. I must have had "I like bacon" written all over my face, because she surprised me with a huge burger complete with bacon, cheese and the best dipping sauce of melted parmigiana cheese, butter and garlic. The kid had excellent ribs Courtney said were smoked on premises. She was great. I really liked that all the employees were smiling and happy, and seemed to really like working there.

We just stayed at the Thayer my mother and I for a girls weekend and we had such a great time there. The room was beautiful and very clean. The hotel halls and commen areas were clean and beautifully decorated.. The food there was delicious. We had great customer service there. We will definitely be back. The court yard is breath taking with all the lights.

The trains are loud. Really loud. If you are reading this, bring earplugs because they will wake you up!!! For being a bed and breakfast, it was weird that neither of the days we stayed had breakfast. We did have dinner on the patio both nights. The patio is really great and the music was good! Now to the room. I wish we had only stayed one night. Bring your own pillows. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The decor was super cool but the squished bugs on the blinds and the bee carcass on the floor were not. Was it haunted? Yes. We had paranormal encounters in our room.

Our dinner was excellent due to our waitress, Madigan!! What a joy she was, always a smile, real joy not fake!! She even waited on our table because the other waitress got overwhelmed...not many waitresses would do this but she did with a smile!! The food was really good to but Madigan's service was awesome!!!
