Amazing, unique food, with fantastic sides and barbecue. Easily the best BBQ in Ann Arbor. Cornbread is also an 11/10.

I came in with high expectations and it completely exceeded them. First off the chef/owner Aaron is incredibly friendly and delivers top notch service. Now to the food, oh the food! The best fried chicken in town, hands down! Great BBQ pulled chicken and pulled pork. Three delicious and distinct sauces. Fresh and delicious catfish. Shockingly good cornbread and the surprise star, the baked beans, amazing! Prices are absurdly low for the quality. Don't be upset if it sells out if you show up in the last hour they're open, particularly specials. A hidden gem, I'm glad word has gotten out about this place, Aaron deserves it and more.
I was blown away by the salad. It was perfectly sweet, tangy and crunchy. I could literally eat just the salad for the rest of my life. The food was so delicious, far better than anything I could ever make. Even the bottled water was crisp and delicious. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here. Absolutely phenomenal. Great and friendly service and staff who actually care about you and treat you with love. 10/10.

Ribs quite literally fall off the bone (see photo). I spent four years in Texas and have traveled extensively through Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama. I can say authoritatively that Aamani's can go toe to toe with any barbecue joint in the south and come out on top. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fish tacos have fish fillets that are lightly and perfectly fried - they're not heavy or greasy and the fish is tender and flaky. The sauces are outstanding. Warning: you may feel that you are having a religious experience when you eat the cornbread and honey biscuits. I've seen it happen. Aaron is one of the friendliest and most personable hosts I've ever dined with and he makes you feel like you're honored guests in his kitchen. By the way, he offers great cooking advice and helped me get my pot roasts to stop turning out like bricks and instead come out perfectly tender and delicious. So stop in, ask for advice, don't forget to order honey biscuits, and introduce yourself since you're about to become a regular!!!
Aamani's place is the best. Aaron is always incredibly friendly and frequently passes out freebies, as well as remembers my name(!) after only a few visits. All the staff are such a delight, but most importantly, the food is amazing. The horseradish BBQ sauce is so unique and delicious, the pulled chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had and the ribs are tender and flavorful. Corn bread and biscuits are to die for. This place is a must try!
The jumbo smoked wings were full of flavor, juicy, and addictive.
The pizza had a lot of cheese and a nice crispness in the crust.
The cornbread, and I say this as a Korean American who never lived south of Northern Virginia so take it for what it's worth, was the best I've ever had. It was a big wedge with this great sear(?) on the sides that gave it this great crisp before you hit the sweet moistness of the inside. The biscuits were great as well for similar reasons.
The food does take some time to make (~15-20 min depending on the dish) as most everything is made and served fresh, and the prices are great too.
Overall, it was all just great. You can tell that the chef, Aaron, is SO passionate about the food he makes and is so welcoming to the customers. 5 stars.

As a St. Louis native and BBQ enthusiast the quality and flavor of the ribs rivaled if not exceeded any and all that I have encountered before.
The wings - excellent.
The collards - excellent.
The Pulled chicken - excellent.
The ribs - unreal.
Don’t allow an unassuming storefront to discourage you from some of the best food Ann Arbor has to offer. This is seriously good food.
We will be coming back. A lot.
- Really friendly, hardworking employee. This was our first time stopping in to pick up food and I really appreciated the welcome we received.
- The corn bread and baked beans were the best I have had in my life, no exaggeration. I didn't know that I needed this corn bread in my life, but I do. We were given large, triangle slices that were so fluffy and rich. It looked like it was made in a cast iron skillet.
- The cole slaw might also be the best I've ever had.
- We will definitely be back! The cat fish and chicken are on our list of things to try.
Aamani's is an Ann Arbor hidden gem. This little joint doesn't look like much, but the food can compete with any of the restaurants downtown.
BBQ Done right. This is a one-man show and the quality is always great because of it. The owner is a professionally trained chef of considerable talent. Literally everything I have had here has been really good. Don't let the low-rent location and decor turn you away.
Service is always fantastic though it can be slowed a bit if they are busy and he is working alone. Well worth the wait!
