Wine: good variety. If you come by yourself, be prepared to entertain yourself. The staff is more interested in talking with each other. But the selection is Great!

This bar boasts a comfortable and cool atmosphere. Only Michigan wines are served (along with a few spirits distilled in Michigan), so it is a great place to sample local wines, but will be disappointing if you are looking for a more comprehensive selection. Michigan has developed a reputation as an up and coming wine region, but sweeter varieties dominate heavily over dry ones, so your chances of finding a good one will depend on your tastes. Overall I love the atmosphere but the limited selection makes this more of a novelty than a regular place to visit.

I moved to Ann Arbor recently and was really looking forward to coming here. The location, concept and decor are great. However, I will never come back here again because my waiter Travis. I asked him for a recommendation between two different wines. When I tried his recommendation I really did not like it and asked if I could just swap out my beverage once for something else. My glass of wine was full. Travis said "no" because "taking back alcohol is against the law". I informed Travis I've been to many establishments where this was not an issue. Travis decided to go a different direction and said that maybe that was true but it depended on the place and here they would not swap out my drink (his recommendation). I needed to pay for it. So I didn't drink my wine, paid for it and left. I asked to speak to a manager but was advised that there would be no manager in for months because the only manager just had a baby (insinuating that I could not talk to anyone about this issue). Perhaps the other servers are great but my server was not very knowledgeable in good customer service. This left a beautiful upscale place pretty hollow.

This place is small and cozy. I've been here twice for happy hour and I loved it. Their wine selection is good and changes seasonally. If you like something you try, it's available for purchase. Their happy hour is until 6pm so it's plenty of time to enjoy after work. Prices are very reasonable.
The wait staff are friendly. I asked them if they had any spare corks and they filled an entire bag for me. Now I can do DIY projects at home!

The server ( maybe Travis?)was rude and arrogant and insulted my group the minute we walked in the door. I inquired about how it worked at this particular establishment, flights only, tasting, by the glass etc and he informed me that I was at a "wine bar "( oh really?!). I've been to wine bars all over the US ( San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Napa, Washington D.C. , New York etc etc and I've never had such rude service. He had never even been to the winery ( Black Star) from the wines they served ( which I have) but he did inform me that he has worked there 4 years and is very knowledgeable .Generally knowledgeable people don't need to inform you of this fact. I do not recommend this establishment .I strongly suggest management find a new employee that is friendly and personable. I also suggest you go somewhere else if you are looking for a fun wine tasting experience.

We very much enjoy coming here. We are wine club members, this is where we pick up our orders. We always stay for a while, enjoy some wine and enjoy the company of the staff. We recommend stopping in for some great wines and good company.

The staff was nice and the wine was good as well. We visited on a week night so the place was quiet and calm. Their cheese platter was my favorite part!

Nice to be able to get Northern Michigan wines locally, but the selection could be better. I believe they only have wines from 3 wineries.
