Anchor Bar

Food was just not good at all. We were expecting great buffalo wings as Anchor Bar is supposed to be home on the buffalo wing, unfortunately what we got were like these Dollar Tree store microwave style flavorless wings. The "chicken strips" were more like chicken nuggets from McDonald's, they even had air pockets in them. They were definitely not whole chicken breast but more like a compressed meat product. The drinks were not even good. We should have left after asking the waiter what he thought of the food, because he couldn't really give an answer other than he hadn't really tried much on the menu. That answer is usually a huge red flag. I chose to give a very low tip due to the waiter's lack of knowledge and when he finally brought our check, he placed it on the table with no pen. I had to ask another server for something to write with so that I could sign my tab. And no the place was not busy at all during the time we were there. If I could give a negative star review Anchor Bar would be the first. I would not be able to recommend this place and I would never return here.

Great wings, especially the Honey BBQ Wings. The margarita is huge, it's like two drinks in one for only $10. Our server was super nice. It took over an hour for our food to arrive and another 15 minutes for my drink, but everything was really good and since we weren't pressed for time, we didn't really mind the wait.

Got a fish fry on Ash Wednesday. The fish and French fries were excellent. Would like to see more than just slaw and Mac salad as sides. Also, no tartar sauce in the to go box. I didn't see it as an order option. Maybe I missed. Regardless, I'll go back for the haddock. Very good and a generous size.
