This is a fun Hometown natural grocer! They have lots of organic produce and some interesting vegetables you can't find anywhere else. A nice bulk food section with the make your own Nut Butter machines. Lots of different probiotic drinks and a nice view counter too. Fun to poke around! They also have a co-op membership.

Quite possibly the most awesome store in Ames. If they dont carry it, they can probably get it. Newly remodeled, extra friendly staff, places to lock up bikes, hot food bar, indoor/ outdoor seating, meat and seafood counters, etc.

Wheatsfield is a welcoming and unique shopping experience. They have so many organic, vegan, fair trade, and just plain interesting items here. If you're looking for anything that's a little trendy and you haven't been able to find it in another grocery store, it's very likely that wheatsfield has at least some of it in stock. My favorite item is their agave gummy bears. Put them in the fridge! 🤤

Excellent selection of specialty, local and vegan food you can't find very easily elsewhere. Also natural cosmetics and cleaners. Great produce, fresh bread, vegan baked goods and local brews. Prices reasonable. So glad to have a store like this in Ames!

I travel the US and this is one of my favorite grocery stores. Lots of options for plant based eaters and a nice deli. Huge selection of local beers and wines.

A nice selection of high-quality, environmentally-conscious foods and other merchandise. Not inexpensive, but a membership in the co-op gives you a decent discount. Helps support local growers and producers. Staff is great!
