I stopped by to listen to the music artists. My son-in-law was playing. It was a great morning for this and fun. Afterward I went inside to shop. I didn't know they had baked goods! I bought the oatmeal scone and it was so very delicious! I bought some fruit and cheese. All was good. I will be back.

Visiting from the chicago area & stopped in at The Co-Op. Got some local beets & local cheese but the BEST treat was seeing artisan breads from the On Site bakery. Made from SCRATCH, featuring local ingredients!!
We took home the Rosemary & Carmelized Onion Fucaccia & the Current & Cardammom Loaf. I like to bake myself, so I appreciate a Great Bread. Both were Amazing - wonderful texture & deep, delicate favors.

One of the best things about Ames, Iowa! I do practically all of my grocery shopping at Wheatsfield's!
Wheatsfield is a wonderful place; it has exceptional employees and quality produce.
Best store out there for variety and charm. Huge improvement lately have only made it better! Beautiful produce and unique shelf merchandise

Nice selection of local organic foods, very clean and inviting store. Excellent selection of fresh deli foods and a salad bar and a hot foods bar. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We don't shop anywhere else. Love that when we go in at least 1 of the staff will greet is by our first names.

I just had the chicken vindaloo from the hot bar. .. With saffron rice and sauteed zucchini and summer squash. WOW.
Beyond amazing. The chicken chunks were just the right size and fork tender, coupled with onion slices and just the perfect amount of heat.
A few weeks back my mom and I drove up to see what Wheatsfield offered in the Plus CBD oils, drops, sprays and so on.
We were looking around, obviously lost when a really nice lady came to us and asked if she could help...
We brought up the oils and she took us right to your display and helped us with information, pamphlets and other literature on the product.
I wish I could think of her name, but we wound up buying a bottle of the 10 mg capsules and a bottle of the 25mg capsules.
I wanted to share, they do make a difference. The pain is still there, but it is the intensity that is lower or masked. So although I do still considerable amounts of pain, I wanted to share the 25 mg a day capsules have been a win decision for me.
The checkout process was great too. I just wanted to share you seem to have a spot on team of workers and as customers, we appreciate that.
This is a fun Hometown natural grocer! They have lots of organic produce and some interesting vegetables you can't find anywhere else. A nice bulk food section with the make your own Nut Butter machines. Lots of different probiotic drinks and a nice view counter too. Fun to poke around! They also have a co-op membership.
Quite possibly the most awesome store in Ames. If they dont carry it, they can probably get it. Newly remodeled, extra friendly staff, places to lock up bikes, hot food bar, indoor/ outdoor seating, meat and seafood counters, etc.

Wheatsfield is a welcoming and unique shopping experience. They have so many organic, vegan, fair trade, and just plain interesting items here. If you're looking for anything that's a little trendy and you haven't been able to find it in another grocery store, it's very likely that wheatsfield has at least some of it in stock. My favorite item is their agave gummy bears. Put them in the fridge! 🤤
Shopping was quick and easy. Found what I was looking for and the checkout was fast. It was a pleasure shopping there for the Holiday meals.
Excellent selection of specialty, local and vegan food you can't find very easily elsewhere. Also natural cosmetics and cleaners. Great produce, fresh bread, vegan baked goods and local brews. Prices reasonable. So glad to have a store like this in Ames!
I travel the US and this is one of my favorite grocery stores. Lots of options for plant based eaters and a nice deli. Huge selection of local beers and wines.
A nice selection of high-quality, environmentally-conscious foods and other merchandise. Not inexpensive, but a membership in the co-op gives you a decent discount. Helps support local growers and producers. Staff is great!
