Had a great meal here last night! Place was busy on a Thursday night, including the bar, with many take-out orders being picked up, too. Fortunate enough to get a window table as the middle of the room is a bit dark.
Our server was very friendly and prompt. My gin & elderflower cocktail was tasty and a generous size.. Wine pours going by also looked to be of nicely generous servings.. Arancini with sauce for an app were crunchy and perfect in a very yummy sauce.. A salad wedge with blue cheese dressing and bacon was of good size and the dressing was delicious.
My partner had the salmon with mashed. It was a tad dry but had nice flavor. I believe roasted brussels were served with it.. As a veg head, I had the plain mac & cheese with a side of buttered broccoli, which was cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was as wonderful as my own! Creamy with several cheeses used and a bit of smoke. Great flavor and the perfect serving size. It needed a bit more heat in the middle when served and that was remedied in less than a minute.. Toasted bread and a corn muffin were also served and delicious.
We didn't have room for dessert, but do recommend Monte's for dinner if you have time to take the long & scenic ride to get there!
The food is delicious and well executed. The atmosphere is the perfect mixture of upscale farm house fitting the farm to table theme. I had the kale salad and the local bourbon glazed duck -- on a busy Saturday night -- and was very pleased with the flavors and the temp. My boyfriend was super happy with his Butcher's Board and Steak cooked MR as he requested. The couple who joined us also enjoyed with a Brussels sprout and Wedge salads, steak and lamb. We shared two bottles of wine with reasonable price tags recommended by the Chef Dafna Mizrahi who I found pleasantly down to earth despite her recent celebrity status as a winner on Chopped. I will most definitely return and since I recently moved very close it may become my regular hang out!
