First time trying Peruvian food and it will not be my last. Very flavorful food with a good balance to the seasoning. I'm looking forward to coming again and trying some of the other items on the menu that looked good.

Ordered the whole chicken with yuca and fried rice and got it delivered. It was unbelievably good. Easily feeds 4 hungry people. The sauces with the yuca were delicious as well. I don't usually review, but this was too good.

My family and I went to eat on at Sunday around 1pm, they didn't have many items from their menu. I had to settle for food they had, than it took them forever to prepare my food, but the time it was ready my family had finished eating. I had to cancel my order. The service was terrible, they had about 5 or 6 weitress and still couldn't handle 4 tables with customers. .... I notice other costumers try to leave, because of the wait,.... not worth it! ....

First thing I'd like to share is that my family and I love peruvian food. We've been to many peruvian restaurants here and in N.Y. My experience here was not welcoming. When my husband and I walked in we weren't greeted and wasn't sure if we were going to be seated as the young lady who worked there was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge us. It wasn't like the restaurant was busy because we were the only ones there. After a few minutes she asked us where we wanted to sit. Then once we got our table we ordered a soda and was given the bottle with a straw, no cup with ice. Then when she handed us our utensils the fork was dirty... So now we get our food my husband said his lomo saltado was good and that he's had better jaleah but it wasn't bad. I had the chaufa which had too much red pepper never had chaufa with red pepper in it and the egg was on the side its supposed to be in the rice and didn't taste like it was stir fried. I should've had the ceviche mixto what I normally order when I eat Peruvian food. This was our first experience here maybe next time it'll be better(if we come back)🤔

Second time visiting and certainly will be my last. First time I was told that it would take an hour for a chicken and ended up ordering an over seasoned arroz chaufa. This time I called ahead and despite being told a 30 min wait for the chicken, was told after arriving that it would be another 45 minutes. An hour later, I was served the worst chicken I've eaten at a restaurant (chicken tasted as it had been drowned in pepper). I love peruvian chicken and was terribly disappointed by El Buen Gusto.

We were visiting some family in Allentown, and were craving authentic Peruvian food after last years trip to Peru. We looked up a few places on google and this one popped up with high praises, we were excited to stop by and check it out. We were greeted with warm smiles as soon as we walked through the door from the waitresses and the store owner! The scenery of the restaurant is very different from any other that we've been to. There was a flat screen playing Latin hits and music videos, and there were large tables to accommodate large parties along with a booth to accommodate smaller ones. There is also an open kitchen in which you can see the chef prepare all of the dishes which put the cherry on top for me. We tried the papa a la huancaina and cevieche as a light appetizer and they were mouth watering. I felt as if I were right back in Lima! Afterwards we tried the Lomo Salteado. We fell in love, we ordered a second portion to take home back to Brooklyn. We were offered desert afterwards but we were so full that we couldn't fit it in our stomachs so we took some to go. The prices for El Buen Gusto are very reasonable, and affordable. I recommend this place to anybody looking to explore the Peruvian culture, or anybody looking for an affordable, healthy and filling dinner! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Pennsylvania.

The ceviche is amazing but it's never perfect. You'll order it one day they put a lot of fish and alot of juice. The following day you'll recieve it with almost no fish and no juice. I ordered a ceviche mixto yesterday and it contained almost zero juice which is what gives it it's taste. Very dissapointed.

The food was authentic upscale Peruvian dishes at affordable prices. The portions are at least double. We will be returning frequently.
