I think it is great that the establishment sells the meat they also cook with. The food was really good, wasn't a super fan of the grilled chicken because it was heavily limed and it was rather overpowering the rest of the salad was good. They serve the "good" ranch. I also had a Reuben to go and my husband said it was amazing!!! The beer I had citrus notes too for imperial stout which didn't jive for my liking but that is only because I am used to thick dark stouts. I did try an oatmeal stout as a test and it was good too however I went with the imperial as they had no tasting for that so I just got the smallest one just in case. We did end up getting deserts and I had the pear crisp cheesecake and that was soooooooo good. All in all the food, the waitress, the establishment was very nice. I am definitely coming back because there are trails I need to explore in Allegan. I took pictures of the town as it was mostly under construction and totally looked like a ghost town.
For a little country town, this place is surprisingly hip! Friendly service, lively vibe and some pretty amazing steak bites. The butter garlic sauce is to die for! Burger, steaks, watermelon salad were great with lots of unique flavor. Friendly server had taken the time to write inspirational notes on the paper napkin wraps :) Also have a fresh meat market on-site...pretty cool! We'll be back next time we're in town.
My girlfriend and I visited for lunch about two months ago and loved it. We brought my parents two weeks ago and they enjoyed it as well. They have great food, friendly service, and a nice casual atmosphere. Their handmade cheesecurds are one of my all-time favorite appetizers and the open-faced beef sandwich is wonderful.
I can always count on Schaendorf Brewing to have great beer on tap & exceptional food. If you're craving a tender steak with delicious flavor come here. I had the huge Chicken sandwich for the first time it was so yummy. Upgraded to a side of Mac-n-cheese which was awesome. Portions are huge so bring your appetite. John at the bar is super friendly and takes great care of everyone. I'll certainly return to Schaendorf.
Food was tasty. Appetizers: The Ahi Tuna was amazing but the Pretzel & Beer Cheese was disappointing, a tad crunchier than we like and needed more beer cheese than we got. We had burgers. The Pickle Rick was good. The sweet potato fries are light and crispy. The Pina Coladas are exceptional . Environment: It was so loud you could barely hear people talking at your own table. Service was mostly okay except we ordered cheesecake to go but we were given the wrong kind. We wanted the Black Cherry Crumble but were given Turtle. So disappointing. Should have opened the box and checked before we left.
Excellent spot to stop by, what's excellent? Everything! Food, beer, service and very clean. When it was about to close, I noticed employees pull out the booth table and clean the floor, wall and bench. I was impressed and will be returning in a few days to try other food and beer flights.
Had lunch here today and food was great. We tried the fried green tomatoes special and they were very good! Also highly recommend the Pickle Rick burger. *We did wait a while to be served after being sat but manager apologized and comped our appetizer to make it right. Great service! We'll be back!
My new favorite restaurant. The food was great. The beer is really good and at a great price. I highly recommend anything with steak. You will also love the burger. The chocolate cake is too good not to end the meal with.
Burgers are the best! Had a hard time deciding but went with the olive burger paired with an order of garlic parm fries. So good! The olives were all chopped up, so the olive sauce-to-burger ratio was perfection. On your way out, do yourself a favor and grab a case of their fresh frozen ground beef. You won't be disappointed.
