Cracker Barrel

I have stopped at this location before as well as several stores all over the country. The food has always been good and the service average. Today, the food was good, and the service was excellent! We had the kindest, most attentive waitress I have had anywhere in a very long time. Celie was the best. Customer service in so many areas have dropped to just barley tolerable. There is, at least one person that is an exception. Manager, take note. You have a winner.

I will start off with the hostess was super sweet. That is about all the positive I can say. The other tables around us were complaining as we sat down she only had 3 tables including us. No high chairs had working straps. The bathrooms were disgusting and did not have toilet paper. Smelt like they had been mopping over pee all week long. So gross I didn’t change my son in there. Our waitress took about 10 minutes to get our drink order and another 10 to bring them to us, which she never refilled. We didn’t get our bread till we were almost finished eating which we asked another waitress for. Another waitress also brought us our food. Our waitress never came to check on us after drinks were delivered. No napkins, no jelly, no butter, And about one tiny spoonful of white gravy on my chicken fried chicken. We then sat there for another 20 once finished eating waiting for refills, boxes, a check…..I finally went to the kitchen and asked for items. The manager might have been more lazy than our waitress and literally had zero personality. Another waitress brought items asked and brought us our ticket. Our waitress then came to table and asked if we were ready for the check. We told her we asked the manager for it and another waitress already brought it. She did bring us a bag for leftover, which was nice. As watching the other tables she didn’t run food to any of her tables, so I am not sure what she was occupied doing. The cashier was very sweet as well and very friendly/talkative. I hate writing bad reviews but we were truly disappointed and probably won’t be back for a while.

I happen to absolutely LOVE Cracker Barrel! However, this one was not the best experience. We signed in and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated the waitress said she would be with us in a minute. About 13 minutes later she came back to the table to get our drink order. She stated that her name is Deborah and that she would be taking care of us. We ordered a kids grilled cheese sandwich with a Sprite, Chicken and Dumplings with two sides of fried okra and a coke, three pancakes with a Dr.Pepper, and last but not least we ordered a side salad for a small child with a small sweet tea. Deborah informed us that they could not make a small side salad for our small child. I stated that she could in fact put salad in a small bowl for him. We also asked for corn bread and biscuits before the meal. She left and 5 minutes later and man shows up. Apparently he is a manager. He states that they won’t make a small salad. I asked if it was because of the price and he said yes. I told him I don’t care if you charge us for a side salad, I just want you to make it small so that he starts his salad and finishes it. The man agrees to make a small salad. About 15 minutes later we asked a lady that was standing by the door if she could help encourage the waitress to bring us our drinks. They finally came but were flat. We had her come back to the table and explained that they were flat and could they adjust their carbonation and bring out new ones. Let’s just say at this point they had an attitude. It was as if they were being inconvenienced. The food had not arrived, the corn bread and biscuits were not there. Finally the food came out. Well everything except the okra and the cornbread and biscuits. I asked the “manager” for the bread AGAIN and stated that Deborah needed to be replaced with someone that could pay attention to the table. FINALLY, the bread and drinks were on the table. The sodas were still flat. How incredibly frustrating for us. Service was terrible. The food was cold.

Worst food I have ever had!! We ordered coffee, had one cup the entire time we were there. Received our food, my husband’s steak was so salty he couldn’t eat it, my mashed potatoes and pinto beans were cold and so thick you couldn’t eat them. I asked twice for my cornbread and was half done with my country fried steak ( only thing hot or edible) before I got the cornbread. My husband never got his jelly or apple butter, so he tried to use the regular butter and it was rock hard. The bathrooms were disgusting. Trash running over in the floor, no paper towels and the toilet was filthy. Update- We paid for a $45.00 meal we absolutely couldn’t eat, had horrible service from our waitress, had to go to the gas station next door to use the restroom, had to stop at a fast food place and spend more money to get food we could eat. Cracker Barrel Corporate added an additional insult by sending us a virtual coupon for 1 free dessert. Really, we are out $45.00 at your restaurant for horrible food and an additional $22.00 at a fast food place because we were starving. We wasted over an hour in there restaurant, then lost more time having to stop for a restroom and get more food but if you will come back we will give you a free $5.00 dessert. That is a fabulous apology said no one! If corporate acts that way it’s no wonder this place was so bad! 🙄🙄

1st visit,there for Mother's Day! Was told would be a Hr,& 1/2 Wait,after Checking in.They had 2 Employees offering Complimentary Ice Water,Unsweetened,& Sweetened Ice Tea! Was a nice Gesture! We were seated after 80 min. Server was friendly,got Food Order correct. We were VERY HAPPY! Would return,when passing through Alexandria!

Don't waste your time coming here! My family and I drove an hour and half passing many restaurants to come here( it used to be a great stop), only to have them tell me everything I wanted to order they didn't have!😔 Prepare better, update your menu, or at the very least apologize!!! No wonder there were many empty tables. I don't normally bother to write a review, but this was extremely disappointing.

We went on a Monday night without reservations, so we ended up waiting about 20 minutes to be seated. Other than that, the service was very fast and friendly. The catfish plate was very affordable (dare I say cheap) and my girlfriend's chicken fried steak was delicious. The food and atmosphere is very casual and pleasant and I would highly recommend it.
