Review Atwood's Bakery - Alexandria

LOVE this place! Their Cream Cheese King Cakes are awesome - so soft, flavorful and delicious. They have SO MANY options to choose from. From cookies, miniature pies, to cupcakes and everything else sweet you can think of! Their service and willingness to help is outstanding.

Nice store. Went in for dessert and wasn’t disappointed. Owner was nice and gave us a sample. Got a strawberry pie and a Chantilly cup. Enjoyed Chantilly cup and strawberry pie was good too

On the last day of their strawberry pancakes special, which looked amazing BTW my GF and I stopped by for treats and brunch. I got shrimp and grits and they were some of the best I’ve ever had, if not the best. My GF had a waffle with strawberries, she let me have a bite and it too was scrumptious. The service was mediocre at best however they were really busy at the time. The sweets were good, not too sweet with lovely flavors.

This is my favorite place to go to in Alexandria for breakfast/brunch. I have tried most of the menu items and I have yet to find one that I didn't enjoy. The eggs Benedict are amazing, and so is the Belgian waffle. The Ruben at lunch time is my favorite. I tell everyone I know that lives in the area to visit. The bakery is also axing and full of delicious cakes, pies, and cookies. 8 have to bring cookies from here for friends that live out of state when I travel to see them.

Breakfast is consistently fantastic. Biscuits and gravy are the best in town. And if you've got a sweet tooth, the berry Chantilly cup is outstanding.

The owner, she is one of the owner is very rude and unprofessional. I waited over a hour for some shrimp and grits. I told two different employees several times what I had order and they went back their several times to check on my shrimps and grits and she gone tell me they didnt have my ticket and didnt no what I order. How you dont know when I'm telling you my exact order. Then you have other customers come and sit down and they get their food in about 15 minutes after I been waiting over a hour and after I mention that to you them the first thing you holler you want a refund. Very biggity and have a nonchalant attitude. I will never go back their she is very rude and the customer service is horrible. You cant tell me because the cashiers was young they didnt know what they was doing and didnt tell you all. That's a lie they told the cooks and whoever else was back there because everytime they came and told me yall kept saying five more minute You knew you just didnt care. A professional owner and a person with good customer service skills would have said this customer have been waiting for over a hour go ahead and get her shrimp and grits ready instead she was rude and still didnt know how long it was going to be and ask me did I want a refund. She still didnt fix my plate and they steady giving people they food that was dining in after ordering they food fifteen minutes ago after I been waiting over a hour. Just sad!!!

Love this place.❤️❤️❤️❤️. I’m 36. My mom use to get me these cakes every year for my birthday when I was younger. I can remember they sweet icing smell. 😋I have moved to Texas over ten years ago. On my mom 50th Birthday I drive 5 hours to return a favor. I couldn’t wait to come in this place and taste a piece of 🍰. It brought back so many memories. I also remember the commercial they use to play😊🥳. Thanks for not changing a thang. I will return again.

We are just passing through from Oklahoma City to New Orleans. After spending the night in a questionable hotel, we were looking for a good breakfast. We had seen Atwood's while searching for food last night. We got there just after breakfast was over. The staff was wonderful and made recommendations when we asked. The Atwood sandwich was great. The smoked chicken salad on it was beyond wonderful. My shrimp creole was perfect, and the roll that came with it was crusty on the outside and soft inside, perfect to dip in the creole. We got a canoli and the mini fruit tart for there (both delicious!) and the blueberry scone and lemon blueberry muffin for snacks on the road.

Best bakery ever! Has the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I drive 1.5 hours just to have that sandwich!

Atwood's Bakery made my Valentine's Day gift to my sweetheart exactly as I requested, and connected me to Waitr to have it delivered. Earlier than expected and perfectly inscribed was the message beautifully on one of their wonderful Strawberry Layer Cakes! Thank you to the thoughtful and professional assistance of Atwood's Bakery staff, my Valentine was very happy when he received this special surprise. I highly recommend Atwood's Bakery in Alexandria, LA!

I'm so Glad I didn't read the reviews before I went! I hate bad customer service. We stopped in for breakfast on 8/18/17 and the ladies were so polite. They provided prompt and professional service. I was very pleased with our visit and the hashbrowns were the best I've tasted.

I love Atwood's. I am always pleased with the food and service. I drive in from Lafayette once a month not only for my dog's treats. Atwood's never disappoints. Thankfully, I can read so I wait out the 30 minute break between lunch and breakfast. It gives me time to cruise the bakery counters.

Great variety of goodies on hand! Good prices! Friendly helpful staff! I'm from out of state. I would recommend Atwood's to anyone and go again in a heartbeat

On Saturday we purchased a dozen inedible lemon squares. The lemon bars tasted like they were weeks old as well as nothing like lemon. We could over look the lack of taste if this was the first time, but it wasn't. We've had several bad experiences with doberge cakes. Everything taste like it has been previously frozen. Saturday was the last time we will visit Atwood's bakery.

Ordered over medium eggs for breakfast. They sent me over easy. Waitress came back and told me thats how we make them here. I told her I've been to other restaurants and yours is the only one to make them different. I had to explain to the waitress how there made. They came back and they were somewhat better. Won't be going back to a bakery for breakfast.

Yesterday we were there at bought the most amazing coconut cake for my husbands birthday! It was delicious!! The staff was fantastic and very helpful.

Rude and not friendly at all. I dislike this place , have been there several times and every time it's the same. I will never go back nor will I recommend it to anyone EVER !

Boo... Turned away for lunch at 2:05 pm with a hungry 2 year-old. Why even be open until the evening hours unless you're serving food?

My mother and I recently had brunch at Atwood's and the customer service was poor. Another group was rendered services prior to us even arriving. The other group was waited on and given menus, after we were sitting there for 25 to 30 minutes.

Passing through Alexandria and hunger for pastry and coffee. My coconut cream pie was AMAZING!!! Loved the crust ! Filling was not too sweet and was so tasty as if they did not cut corners. Impressed with the selection of goodies to chose from! And thank you for the complimentary coffee.

I love this place! Every time I come to visit family in Louisiana we go to Atwoods Bakery! Wish we lived closer! Excellent service and items!
