Made a stop in town for a quick business trip and saw this place next to my hotel. I had two papusas (bean and cheese / chicken and cheese) and 3 Asada tacos. Tacos were great and the bean and cheese was also good, the chicken papusa did not taste good, I couldn’t finish it. If I’m back in the area will definitely try again.

Awful. Save your money and go to any other pupusas joint on this street. I should have turned around when I took a whiff of what smelled like Fabuloso covering a mildew stench. But the reputation of Dona Azucena compelled me. Everything tasted off and the masa was dry. Save your money and go to Rositas next to Target. So much better.

Truly authentic food. The papusas are fresh and as good, or possibly better than those I've had in Central America. They also have a few other menu items, horchata, and of course sweet plantains. The service was a little slow, but it's worth it to get amazing food like this in DC. Would go again.

They always mess up the orders. Last visit They set 16 pupusas of the same kind when we clearly order a variety, we even write on paper the whole thing.
