The street tacos were delicious and tasted very similar to the ones back home. I got the Diablo margarita and the spice on it was great. It wasn’t spicy but definitely did have a kick to it. Our waitress did a great job at being attentive. The music being played was authentic and reminded me of home. Overall a great restaurant, ambiance, and service. Worth trying out if you are in the area.

We really enjoyed this place. We had the combination fajitas with salmon, scallops and shrimp. It was very good. Salsa and chips were good too. Great service. Cool place. I would definitely recommend this place.

We LOVED this place!! The Carne Asada fajitas for two people are 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻. We picked this place on a whim and loved it. Excellent service, free chips and salsa, super yummy. Great for like a casual brunch or afternoon.

This place is my favorite in Old Town Alexandria. The staff is so down to earth and kind. I order shrimp tacos every time I come, and 100% of the time it’s fire. I bring all my friends here for lunch catch-ups and dinner. The margaritas, *chefs kiss*. There is no other taco restaurant in Alexandria I’d prefer to go to. Forever a regular at Los Cuates. 7 stars.

First and last time eating here. Decided to check it out but had quite a bad experience overall. Service was degraded and disorganized, overcharged for margaritas (but made right when I brought it up), rice and beans were off tasting, and never was assigned a server at our table. Had to awkwardly flag down other servers who had other tables to worry about. Too bad - was hoping to have a new regular place to visit, but price vs. taste and experience ratio doesn't add up.

This was an extremely disappointing meal. We were waiting for at least 40 minutes to only get food below the quality of a Taco Bell. If I’m being honest, a Taco Bell Cantina runs laps around this place for half the price. The food was not hot on arrival, components of the dish were missing, and the fruit on the plate looked re-used. I literally placed ketchup on the fruit to ensure it doesn’t get re-plated. I felt embarrassed for the waitress and she seemed embarrassed too. The brunch did not live up to basic expectations, significantly missing the mark.

My husband and I visited for lunch. As we waited for our order we ordered the medium sized mango margarita’s. The waitress was kind to give us chips and salsa as we waited. The salsa had good flavor but was very watery.
We ordered two Al Pastor Burritos to-go. I wish we stayed to eat because I would have returned my food. My burrito was so salty that I couldn’t eat it. Salty does not equal flavor. If it wasn’t too much of a hassle to go back I would’ve gone back to get my money back. The rice and beans accompanied with it was meh. It’s like they took the salt from the rice and beans and added it all to the burrito.
I also think they are over priced for the portion of food you receive. For two lunch burritos and two mango margaritas the bill came out to $68. A total waste.
I won’t be returning to this restaurant. I’d prefer Taco Bell’s over this place. Taco Bell’s give same portion and better flavoring then this salty, flavorless and meh restaurant. Might I add Mexican food is by far my favorite food and never have I ever had such an experience.

I was so excited to try something different for our night out without kids in forever. Big mistake. It took almost 10 mins for our waitress to come to our table and take our drink order. We should have left then. Took another 10 mins to get a margarita and a beer. Ordered the queso, soup and tacos. You would think the queso would come out first, but we got it 15 mins later. Had to ask for more chips. Ordered one more beer that never made it's way to the table. Waitress did not ask if we wanted another drink ,we had to flag her down. The tacos came out 20 minutes after we ordered. Flavorless, burnt shells. Huge disappointment. Just handed my credit card to the waitress as she was passing the table without waiting for the check. How do you mess up tacos? At a Mexican place? How do you not get drinks quickly when you are seated 20 ft from the bar and it's not crowded? I would have been better off making tacos at home or going to El Paso, our usual mexican place. Old Town really needs to bring Austin Grill back, at least their service was good and the food consistent.

If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! We ordered food 9/15 thru Uber Eats. When the meal was delivered it was ALL completely inedible. One meal was missing. One had shredded chicken in a chimichanga that smelled rancid and was soaked in grease. The refried beans were tiny cups of pinto beans with no flavor and the tacos/nachos were all mush and disgusting. When I called the restaurant to get it corrected (especially since the missing meal was our 11 year olds meal and we were in a tight spot being displaced by hurricane Irma), the first employee handed me off without saying a word causing me to repeat my story and issues again. I then find out the person he handed me off to wasn't even a manager or supervisor. That lady promised to have a manager call me yet that was FOUR days ago with still no response. It's sad that we ended up having to pop over to McDonald's and even worse that the food from McDonald's was way better than the slop this restaurant was sending out.

Food great, terrible service. When does adding 25% gratitude by the server for only 4 people is right? Doesn't say anything on the menu about adding gratitude for party larger than 4. The female server was terrible and didn't even come back to help us at all. Very disappointed visiting from California to eat at this place. Be aware eating here.

There food is good but I have noticed the portion sizes go down especially the molcajete. Usually it is filled to the top with delicious guacamole but the last time I went it was only half full. Also their idea of spicy really isn't.

My friends and I made a reservation for this place for Cinco de Mayo over a month in advance and when we got to the restaurant they informed everyone that no reservations would be honored. On a Friday night. People were waiting over an hour to be seated. I can't fathom the level of disorganization and lack of customer service that was shown. I get it, it's a busy day for you, then don't accept reservations. Don't screw over people who can't wait an hour and then have to wander the streets on a Friday night trying to salvage one of the few nights we get as Moms to enjoy a night out. Don't bother eating here, not worth the hassle for "not the best Mexican food you will ever eat." Find a place that respects people's time.

The salsa was to chunky & watery but the flavor was good. They just need to blend it. The enchilada was dry needed some sauce. The taco was good. There margaritas were $11 each. GEEZ I like Los Teltecos much better & better priced. But I'm glad I went to check it out.

Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. Very friendly and accommodating. The margaritas were a hit!

Great food . But the service was not that great. Food took longer that it should have, had to ask for a refill on water, and had to request dessert twice.

Food was delicious. Expect to wait on Friday and Saturdays for your food to come out, small place. The chips and dip will hold you over.

Had great fajitas and service. Been there on other times when the food wasn't as good, so I am only giving 4 stars.

Visiting DC from Wisconsin, and am very happy that we found this restaurant. The fish tacos were delicious and I couldn't have asked for a better mango margarita. Would love to come again.
