Savory Rootz

First time here. It's a cute place with lots of cheery artwork on the walls. There was a pretty thick haze from the grill area hanging in the air. The woman who took the order was friendly. They only have canned sodas, so no free refills, and no beer sales. Wanted black bean burger, but they were out so I ordered a standard cheeseburger with fries. Fries are very good. Burger was hand patted, but had no flavor at all and cheese had no flavor either. Bun had good flavor but was a bit dry. This seems to be mostly a burger and wing place with a breakfast menu consisting of traditional fare like biscuits, eggs and bacon. I saw several items mentioned in other reviews that did not appear on their chalk menu. They are newly opened so they may be expanding their menu soon to include other items. I would say it's average, and we may go back sometime to try a breakfast item.

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the wings are to die for. The fried green tomatoes are the best as well. The owner is the nicest and always makes sure go at least wave to you if he’s busy in the kitchen. I used to come here weekly and sometimes twice a week. However, lately it seems like they are unable to handle the traffic coming into the restaurant. They may need a larger staff. It takes a while to get the food sometimes and they run out of wings quickly. Also, the new woman at that works the front counter is rude and she is one of the reasons I don’t come as often. With all of that being said, I will still return and enjoy the wings, I can’t find anywhere else that beats them.
