How have I lived right by this place for long and never been in? It was such a delight and I felt like I was in my grandma’s kitchen. Family owned and operated and the owner was the absolute sweetest! I will definitely be back!!

Amazing!!!!! I don't even know where to start. Small, clean , and peaceful is how I would describe my first impression. It's like walking downstairs to the kitchen and your favorite food is cooking. Amazing.... my husband had the huevos rancheros, says hands down the best ever. I have the beef stuffed sopapilla. Wow, I kept eating and couldn't stop. Flavors burst with every bite. This is a golden gem . We love everything about El Mariachi and can't wait to go back.

Great cust.serv. never had an issue.
Always feel welcomed. Busy place at times. Home cooked food. Always get the Indian taco. ALWAYS FRESH. All homemade.

Family run business in a good location. Fabulous sunset vistas! I had the sampler plate, which consisted of a relleno, a tamale, and an enchilada. I enjoyed it, it was very delicious. Friendly lady and her son and grandson were there all working to make my visit a good one. I recommend it for its location, menu, and very affordable prices!

Was very fortunate to stumble upon this restaurant. Definitely a gem of Albuquerque! The food was delicious (and extremely well-priced) and the service was outstanding. I will be back for more!

Good place overall, food is great for the price and like some said the server is a bit aloof at first, but warmed up to us later on. Would recommend it, I plan to go again.

Fantastic local spot for some good New Mexican food! The owner was the sweetest, portions were huge, and you can't beat the prices. You can tell they care about their business. New favorite spot for sure!

Excellent food at El Mariachi. I had the most delicious smothered bacon breakfast burrito. Nice, hot green chile...just the way we like it in Albuquerque. Would recommend this family-owned local restaurant to everyone!

Love the homey vibe and the oldies music. The food was delicious and for a great price.
The bad reviews about the service are totally bogus. The woman here is sweet and attentive. She knew all the other customers or treated them as such.
We will definitely coming back for some more homestyle NM food.

Really good Food. My wife and myself were passing by and stopped here because we are always willing to try any New Mexican food. We were surprised about how much we both enjoyed the food. The chips are as described by someone else on here, paper thin and the salsa was good. The place was not very busy as they were about to close for lunch and our food was out in less than 5 minutes. I was most surprised that I actually preferred the green over the red. The green is not your typical green, but has a great flavor. My cheese enchilada plate was more than enough food. My wife ordered the stuffed sopaipilla and it was very large and she enjoyed it. The price of the plates were very reasonable. I would recommend anyone who loves New Mexican food to give it a try!

Bland food and bland service.. My dad and I ate here a few days ago. We both had the combination plate with a chicken enchilada, chile relleno, and tamale. It was the blandest meal ever. The green chile that they smothered the plate in didn't taste like anything and was more beige than green. The tamale was the standard Bueno brand tamale that you can buy at the grocery store for much cheaper. It wasn't warmed up properly (warm but not hot) and was hard as a rock in some places. I'm not sure if it was just old or what. The chile relleno was filled with some sort of cream cheese instead of mozzarella, which wouldn't be bad if the chile tasted like anything stronger than grass. The enchilada isn't worth a description.

The service here wasn't great. The older woman another reviewer mentioned, was sitting in the middle of the restaurant doing a crossword puzzle when we walked in. It took her ages to bring us menus and then she sat back down to do her puzzle and started talking loudly to a couple across the restaurant. She continued to ignore us and barely said a word to us. It was all rather rude. The food was brought out quickly, however.

The Salsa Nazi. Customer Service:
Some of the WORST experiences at this restaurant with friends and family. I will never return here. The owner, an older woman, greeted us for the first time in disgust as we had brought a coupon from the Entertainment book. Isn't that what it was for? A year later we returned with the same and she immediately said "No coupons today". To this day she is overly rude to us. Don't confuse this with her personality; we've witnessed her kindness to other patrons every time.

Food:
We return because the food IS DELICIOUS. Probably the best salsa and stuffed sopapillas in New Mexico. Ever seen Seinfeld? The Soup Nazi episode. el Mariachi's is the Salsa Nazi... My family and friends all refer to her as such. :)

Enjoy lunch and meet the family. A true family run restaurant - we were made to feel very welcome on our first visit. Good basic New Mexican food although I like a little more "kick" to my green chili. The salsa and chips were a treat - paper thin crispy chips, almost like a potato chip, with flavorful salsa. Atmosphere is basic and simple - a few booths and tables.
