A new twist on sushi. Love the idea concept of taking sushi and putting into a burrito. Great flavor. Atmosphere is great also.
Wonderul! I wasn't planning on grabbing a bite to eat in uptown. But I'm so happy I did. The sushi burrito was fantastic & the staff was really friendly. Great place. I'm definitely going again.
I absolutely love this place. Such a smart business model, such great service, value, and food! I love everything here. My friend doesn’t love sushi but loved this place, there are actually plenty of non-fish options. The guy making our sushi was hunky and so sweet. For 35$ we had way more food than we could eat and all of it was fresh and very high quality.

Ok, here is the raw truth. We've been coming here since this place opened. Have always been VERY happy. Even with menu item changes, quality is still there. The owner had always treated us great.
HOWEVER, today things weren't so grand. First of all, portion sizes have significantly become smaller. EX. I have recently (pretty much my regular) been ordering the Ninja Nachos on rice(an offered option in place of the wonton chips), add Unagi. Then I ask for spring mix. The Unagi is of course an upcharge, but I've never been charged for the spring mix. Today I was charged for the spring mix, sprouts, AND the rice as a custom!!! What I normally pay $10.95 + Unagi upcharge of $2.25 was just under $20.00!!!
Not to mention, the kindness that we've come to expect and enjoy wasn't there either. My bowel used to barely contain everything, now it's just barely over ½ full. Thinking we will not be returning. Sorry, but I think your changes have ran away a good portion of your loyal followers. Very disappointed in everything!!! I wanted to purchase a tumbler, but not now.
Heed this warning if your a regular. The burrito sizes are much smaller as well. I could over hear chatter and others were saying the same thing......

We are now visiting Sushi Freak again. We are very pleased. I understand prices go up. So, if expect price increases. For what you get I believe the prices are pretty fair. The quality is great. While the burritos are still smaller than when they opened, the quality is still 100%. As I said in the other review, blame COVID. It changed everything. The atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. You can find and purchase Asian sweet treats and they are quite affordable. The folks are kind and accommodating. The only issue was the dining area could have used a bit of cleaning. Nothing bad.

Delicious!! Amazing customer service!! And fast. Also the gentleman taking our order and making our food memorized our whole order without writing it down.

Being from California I didn’t have high expectations for this place but I was quite surprised. I got the New Mexico roll which had spicy tuna but also green chili. I really liked it. I’d go back and try some of their other stuff given my experience.
Food is always good, I love how the rolls are made fresh when u ordered (the staff was on point) and when we stopped in the rush came and the line was too the door. Just wish they would have a dedicated person to clean up the dining area, like tables and used trays, they were piling up as we left and it wasn't even busy before we walked in.
Not the absolute best rolls I've ever had, but can't complain in the least. I was in ABQ on a business trip and my colleague and I visited sushi freak a couple of times during our one week trip. Definitely scratches the sushi itch if you don't have much time. Would definitely go back.
This place was pretty good. Better than I had expected I found I like unagi sauce here. It's a small place not suitable for bigger parties

Her y very tasty. I had the beach bum burrito which I didn’t even know there was a such thing as a sushi burrito. The smoothness of cream cheese, the crunch of the coconut shrimp, and the sweetness of the mango was a perfect combination. The prices are so good, place is clean, the ingredients taste fresh. Highly recommend.
Our go to place for sushi here in ABQ. -1 star because the lady employee preparing the sushi burrito was rude, wasn't fully paying attention while taking orders,asking for my order then turned her back immediately eventhough im not done with my orders, told her for dine in but ended putting all our orders in to go boxes and the cashier had to tell her again about my other order. she didn't prepare it because she wasn't listening. The cashier and her argued also in front of the customers after a few minutes idk what it was about. The food here is great, though. The Fist bump burrito and the ninja nachos are our favorite.
