Great diner. I've eaten breakfast here many times. Get there early because it gets crowded and table space is at a premium. In good weather you can spill out onto the picnic tables outside.
Everything I've had here is good- from the coffee to the eggs to the scones. It takes a while but the results are worth it.

This place is great! We drive by it nearly everyday and finally decided to stop in after the recommendation of an open house realtor. We didn't know what we were missing! We popped in two days in a row. Everyone is so friendly and the food is great! You won't be sorry if you order the Blueberry Pancakes, they are the best I've ever eaten! Crusty, lacy edges and just stuffed full of large blueberries! The Breakfast Burritos are great, too. I can't wait to try the Rio Cristo. A guy at the next table was loving it.
Great Little Neighborhood Place. We have gone in serveral times for just beverages. Other times we make the time to stop in and dine. The food is fresh and quite tastey. Waffle dogs ans Chicken Fried Steak are show stoppers. All that said the thing that really is the icing on the cake happens to be the family owned feel of the staff and their sweet speedy service.
Great little find! Although small, the interior is modern and clean. Beware, bathroom is outside. My sandwich was delicious and they have tots as a side. Tots! Would absolutely go back.
We have discovered an incredible place to eat on a regular basis !!! Very good food, and we highly recommend it !!
Possibly the best blueberry pancakes we've ever had--light, tender, tasty. And the New Mexican food is no slouch. Order at the counter & food comes fast. The owner checked on us personally. Easy to park. A little gem blocks from Old Town.
Bound to Return.... We stopped off here over the weekend for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. Clean, modern, and updated interior; excellent menu options; attentive service; and reasonable prices make this place a win. When we received our plates, they looked like something you'd see in a photo. We came here after receiving a recommendation, and we'll be back again!

What a perfect place to have breakfast!!! We went every day during our stay.
Not only is the quality of the food they serve superb but the owner and his staff are amazing. You can really tell when someone takes pride in what they do and in this restaurant, they all do!
When I explained I do not eat meat, I was immediately offered a substitution. Since they are well known for their pancakes, they gave us a free pancake to try out.
You go in and you feel a warm welcome...
Do not miss it, you will not regret it! And if you do not have time to dine in, they have a drive through!!! They also offer catering.
The food was good (above average) and the beans were the real deal. The place seemed like it had its regulars and felt homie. The prices were average and it's very clean. I think that's what I was most impressed with, was the owner/manager walking around and picking up plates and cleaning. You can tell he's proud of his business and led by example. A very rare thing these days. All in all I would come back and I do recommend you give this place a try!
I was in a party of five at 1115 am on a Saturday. The restaurant was extremely busy. We had to wait a bit for a table to clear out. Central Grill is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter, and then they bring you your order when it's ready, but you do not have a typical server. Most of us ordered coffee, and the pot available for the customers was empty during the visit. Hence, we had to wait in line like we were ordering food to get coffee refills, and that was cumbersome, considering they were very busy while we were there. I had the carne adovada frito pie with eggs and red chile. The Frito pie was underwhelming. The dish had very little carne adovada. The red chile was barely noticeable. The dish was very bland. This was my first visit, so I plan to visit again soon and order something different.
It was a last stop before we headed out of town, and I'm so glad we did! From the delicious grande burritos to the amazing pancakes. Everything on the menu was well thought out and cooked to perfection.
Anytime we are back in Albuquerque, we know where we will be having breakfast!
Also, the cinnamon rolls and desserts are a must!
I had the smothered adobada burrito smothered and it was so good!! It was pretty spicy but not to the point where it lost flavor! A must try! The iced latte was also great, pretty hard to find a breakfast where you can have a good meal and iced latte at the same time. A must visit when coming to Albuquerque.
First time visiting Central Grill and I was Very impressed by how Great the customer service is here ♡ and then there are the Flavors ! The food here tastes Homemade like what you would eat at your Abuela's (grandmother's) Table. Met a very nice gentleman named George Griego who came by to introduce himself and to make sure my family and I were taken care of. His kind demeanor and attentiveness I won't forget --and I post these pics with Hopes that Each of you reading this Will Stop By and Enjoy it at Central Grill just like we did... spot is right across from Actual Old Town! ♡
THANKS, MR. GEORGE ! ☆☆☆☆☆
My son and I took a road trip through the southwest. Ate at many highly recommended restaurants and this was the best meal we had the entire 10 day trip. I ordered the banana french toast - yum! It was a little loud inside the restaurant, but there was ample seating in the covered patio and fans to keep things cool.
The guy at the front desk was super welcoming and friendly. The rest of the service was only okay, but not very attentive to needs like water or butter. The single bathroom outside the building is not very convenient, and was out of soap on my visit which felt pretty gross. The food was mostly good!
This is definitely the spot where the locals come. It’s always busy and the prices are super reasonable. The food is good too and the service was simply outstanding. They have a very compassionate staff and they made several good recommendations. It’s nice to still see a place that truly cares about their guests!
What a delightful breakfast we had at Central Grill and Coffee House! We ordered the Eggs Benedict and a towering stack of pancakes. While both dishes were excellent, the pancakes truly stole the show – fluffy, mouthwatering, and perfect! We couldn't help but wonder if we should have taken a leap of breakfast faith and sampled their tempting breakfast burrito. Perhaps next time! If you're on the hunt for a superb breakfast experience, this is the place to go!
