We finally gave into the rave reviews and had to check out Fork and Fig for ourselves. The expectations were high; everything we read said it would be great. What we found out is everyone was wrong as it was so much better than we hoped it would be. The food was amazing with great flavors paired with caring and thoughtful preparation. You couldn't ask for more from this understated and unassuming culinary delight.
The meal I had was AMAZING!!! So good and filling (the burger is THICK). My meal was about $17. ❤️ I gave 4 stars for service because when I called to put my order in, the person who answered was very short and I felt rushed. I’m able to keep a great attitude through that, and I believe that may be why her energy got better as I figured out my order, but someone else might have been out off. I ordered to go, so I can’t speak on restaurant atmosphere.
This is my favorite restaurant in New Mexico - including Santa Fe, the competition was steep, but Fork & Fig has incredible cuisine, service that's is both informed and warm, and a casually stylish atmosphere.
But truly...the food is spectacular in flavor and even presentation. The freshness of the ingredients is wonderful, and the combinations are interesting and complex without ever compromising on taste. We come here for casual lunches, celebrations, meals with friends, comfort food on bad days - it always hits the spot! I have three favorite servers...you can't go wrong. I am grateful for their existence - truly!
Been here twice now and really enjoy the food. The combinations go really good together. Such as the Turkey pear, love the fig jam. They have a pretty good beer selection with locally beer companies. The NY strip Sammy was very good, with the meat and arugula.
We had the fig Mac and elk burger. Both came in good chunky patty, fresh veggies and you get to choose a side. My husband got watermelon gazpacho and I got the Brussel sprouts. The watermelon gazpacho was very flavorful. Not really our cup of tea but we were glad we tried. Brussel sprouts were amazing! It was sautéed to perfect. Every layer was well-seasoned.
The hamburger was very good and tasty. The gazpacho was so refreshing and good. The only down side was the amount of time our food took to get out. We waited way more than in other places specially for the 3 leches cake. The cake took forever to come out and I would get it again. Get the food, skip the cake and you’ll be fine.
Recommended by a friend. The recommendation didn't disappoint. The Elk Burger (medium well) was great accompanied by the fingerlings. Give it a go if you're in Albuquerque.
I ordered the turkey and pear sandwich which was pretty good. The side of roasted Brussel sprouts was great. Really good service and not too crowded on a weeknight. Easy to park and the environment was cozy.
The food was phenomenal, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was out of this world. I ordered a wedge salad with crab meat on top, a green chili burger with the herb fingerling potatoes, and a piece of tres leches cake. If I had to find a critique it would be that it was a little odd the crab meat on top of the salad was warm rather than cool but it wasn’t bad, it was a great salad. Would definitely come back and recommend!
Most flavorful meal I've had on this journey! Small and cozy, but had outdoor seating as well. I ordered the Elk burger, medium and the roasted Brussels sprouts. Bursting with flavor! The sprouts were like candy! Very glad we found this place.
