Review Nob Hill Bar & Grill - Albuquerque

Always good in my experience with a great selection of rotating beers on draught. Can be a bit pricey but you pay for the location. Plus I like that almost every time I'm there, 90s/00s era trip hop is being played.

My buddy raved about a meatloaf he had on Central some years ago, after scouring the avenue for the restaurant we found it! His meatloaf was beautiful, the mushroom-fig bruschetta was delightful, the dips in the chip appetizer were tasty. Only downside was my burger seemed a little outclassed by the other menu items; a tad over priced in my opinion, hence the 4/5 stars.

GET THE BOUJEE BURGER! I mean guys.. it was so incredible! The arugula on top of melted brie paired so nicely with the Angus patty and fig jam. The Dirty Burger was massive and had layers and layers of flavor. Our waiter also provided incredible service, he was very attentive and knew the menu well.

I had a Sunday brunch with friends the drinks and food were great most of the young ladies service was impeccable. It was my first time there.

The apple Brie sandwich entre is a good value, you get a full sandwich with soup and salad. The calamari is good but not exceptional. The duck confit fries was good though I wasn't that big of a fan of the sauce. Even though it was in the middle of the day and barely any people, we got great service.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend it. I ordered the chef salad, and it was so flavorful. My mom ordered the chefs special sirloin (not on the menu) I’m including a picture of it. They also have items for kids! Really great wine list and an amazing staff. We might have to come back again before we go back home.

Really delicious food and very crafty cocktails. The service was terribly slow, including the kitchen. But everybody was immensely friendly. The vibe is very sleek, hip and modern.

First time here was amazing! The service was very professional and the food was 10/10. I ordered a Dirty Burger which is a homemade patty with Chile con Queso, bacon, fried onions and a fried egg on top, some sweet potato fried and also I ordered a Yeti stout and was delicious. If you are in town you should come and give it a chance you would not regret it.

Excellent food for very reasonable prices. I highly recommend the steak salad and/ or the mango habenero buffalo wings. Service and the drinks are fantastic as well!

First visit, food was outstanding as was the service. Prices seemed fair for the quality provided. Servers were super courteous. In all fairness, it was a Tuesday night and only 3 or 4 tables occupied. Got a coupon for half off brunch and asked if served during the week since expiration date was 3 days later on Friday and we thought brunch was a weekend thing. Server got confused and said to come on weekend and they would "probably" honor it. I would have preferred she ask a manager and provided a solid answer.

We really enjoyed our visit! We went before a Popejoy show (they offer 10% off for day-of show patrons). The food was great, the service was friendly, and it's in a perfect location. The happy hour specials were a nice perk. We will definitely be going again!

So my friends and I came here to play Geeks who Drink and it was really fun!! I’ve been to this establishment before and have always been impressed with the food. Their beer selection contains a lot of great beers from neighboring states which I think is really cool. I strongly recommend any of their burgers or the meatloaf! Ahhh, just typing this is making me hungry. Oh, apparently after like 10 or 11pm on weekends this becomes a club type thing which I wasn’t aware of. I’ve heard good things but have never been here for that. Overall, great place! Friendly staff and amazing food....

I had a great lunch experience here today! The place, firstly, is very stylish but not pretentious! The menu was easy to navigate and had great options that I think would groove with anyone’s palette. Also, if you’re looking for good drinks the bar is drink menu is so 👌🏼! The spirits are top-notch so you’re getting all the bang for your buck. I recommend the Smash Burger & cheesecake, they’re phenomenal. It’s perfect for casual dining and a fun date night, all the excuses to come back for more. So glad this new sweet spot exists!

Excellent! The food was superb. We had prosciutto wrapped jumbo scallops and the house salad. Both were very good. The salad was large enough for the two of us to share. The service was good but could be excellent if the waiter offered us the fresh, cracked pepper every time instead of us having to ask for it for each course once we learned of its existence.

I'm an out of towner from PA that stopped in to visit at the recommendation of the Duel Brewing company in ABQ. The food was so amazing and the staff was friendly and inviting. My server/ bartender was Frank. I had some wings and a burger and it was some of the best food I all vacation. Will recommend to anyone I know who comes to visit the area! Thank you for a wonderful time and delicious food!

Exceptional chef & diversified menu if you are sick of Mexican food. Excellent place & staff. I bring all my visitors from out of state here!!! Love the baked Brie in pastry puff with crackers & fruit! Fresh esparagus & bacon soup was the bomb. I come often!!!!

I can only tell you that the food at the Nob Hill Bar & Grill was absolutely exceptional. I have never had a ribeye like that in my life. Jesus Salazar was totally impressed with the ribeye and his scallops as we split a different dish. The crab risotto was amazing. Martha Rubio loved her salmon special. The Melbec from Argentina was an exceptionally great wine. I can only tell you that the kids did not complain at all with the macaroni and cheese and the chicken fingers. The desserts were also out of this world. I was shocked to see how inexpensive my bill was. Congratulations Nicole Kapnison on your most phenomenal restaurant. Και που ήσουνα μωρή; Γιατί δεν δούλεψε σήμερα; Δουλειά κακομοίρα! Δουλειά!

Was sat at a bad table in an empty restaurant with family, next to the outdoor patio entry with a lot of foot traffic. Busser can brush up on etiquette and some of the staff could leave out the dirty looks. Our server was cool and the food was good but not planning on visiting again.

Loved this place, top notch service and food was delicious. Waiter Hayden was courteous and knowledgeable.

The menu caters to every taste, amazing hand crafted cocktails, and an always amazing and revolving tap selection. The staff is very knowledgeable and passionate. Great spot for any occasion!

Nicole and her staff at NHBG definitely know how to step things up and take care of their regular customers! After one very bad (and totally out of character) experience a few weeks back, Nicole reached out not only to apologize, but to assure me that the matter had been remedied. She invited myself and my best friend back, and we were taken care of with true five star treatment. Stephen is definitely the best bartender in Nob Hill, and his energy makes every visit fantastic. Much respect to both Nicole and her staff for reaching out and going above and beyond!

I've never had a bad meal or bad experience here...Even though I no longer live in Albuquerque, I always make an effort to visit here when I'm in town.

This place is a must go when in Nob HIll. Great atmosphere with amazing food and service. You can tell a lot of love and thought goes into every detail of the food and drink selection!

Had a great dinner, drinks were on POINT!  It does get a little crowded in the evenings but the waiter we had was great!! I wish I could have remembered his name...darn. But I recommend this place for a delicious dinner and like I said Drinks were off the hook!!!! We will definitely will be back soon!! hmmm maybe even tonight....

Went there for a nice dinner on a Friday evening and just had Terrible service will never be back. We were rushed out the door and not even offered a second drink. We arrived a full hour before closing. <br/><br/>

The food is very good, but they have a lot of service issues to work out. The dining room was open-air with the big door rolled up the afternoon we visited and it was literally 86 degrees in there with wind gusts. And service was dang slow. Management needs to get on top of what's happening.

This place was amazing. I brought two of my friends and we all ordered diffrent things. One of my friends ordered a Margarita and said it was too sweet but that was the only complaint. We had the lobster mac, a burger, and duck tacos. The lobster mac was amazing and the lobster perfect. The burger was awesome and came with the coolest fry basket shaped like a mini fryer, and the duck tacos were so cool. Instead of a shell they used himica!

This was great. Set in a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere, one feels comfortable being there. The server was polite and helpful, beautifully describing the features of the evening. I enjoyed the La Cumbre/Odell collaboration beer which was a pleasant surprise to find. The food was delicious and more than enough. The server guided us throughout the entire meal and we left content. Will certainly be back!

Great food and atmosphere! Was looking for something different and decided to give this a try. <br/>Sister-in-law was particular about her mixed drink and apparently they hit it spot on. <br/><br/>Ordered the kids Mac & cheese, chicken fingers- the fingers were a tad salty.<br/>The 'in-law ordered the short ribs and were tender and delicious. <br/>The wife and I shared the meatloaf. It was very good and different enough to keep it interesting! <br/>Do I need to mention they have an awesome beer selection on tap? <br/>Great background music that allows you to relax and enjoy the company. <br/>Dessert was home made ice cream & Flourless Chocolate Torte for the kids, while the wife and I shared a Guinness Fritter Bomb.<br/>Everything was excellent and will caution you that the chocolate torte is rich! <br/>Enjoy.

Terrible service, or actually no service at all. Went here for a friends birthday dinner, we made a reservation because there were 10 of us. We waited 40 minutes and not one person came to take our drink order, or tell us that someone would be with us soon. We decided to leave since we were obviously not going to be helped, and they didn't even apologize or acknowledge us when we left.<br/><br/><br/>-----23 Dec, 2014-----<br/><br/>Terrible service. Went for a birthday dinner, waited 40 minutes at our table and no one even came to get our drink order. We got up and left and they still didn't say a word, but managed to start picking up our empty glasses before we were even out the door.

Went for a friends birthday. Food was good. Service was awful. Waitress kept forgetting appetizer, and took forever to bring my drink out....

Poor Customer Service. I was very disappointed after an experience I had with Nob Hill Bar and Grill... We went on a slow saturday afternoon, The waiter was fine, don't remember his name but a tall male, the food was good, but at the end of the meal the waiter asked for my credit card, then afterwards came back and said he had made a mistake and asked me for my card again. A few days later I discovered my card had been charged twice. So I called the restaurant and spoke to the GM, who stated that they were in the middle of the lunch so she could take down my information and look at it later and give me a call back. I waited a week, no call back, so I called again, I spoke to her again, She DID NOT apologize for not calling me back or taking care of it the first time, she asked me for my information.... again. All of this information I had given her the first time. She then looked through the receipts while I was on the phone with her. I told her I was getting overdraft charges because the charges went through twice, no response. This was no my mistake it was the restaurants and they messed up twice, but she did not seem to care about that. She then stated she could not find the copy of my CC statement and I would have to call my bank and dispute the charge, she did apologize for the inconvenience but frankly I have now wasted my time eating in your restaurant, having to spend my time on the phone with her twice and now I have to go to my bank to fix their mistake. I have been a server before and dealt with restaurant management, and that is really poor service, if it is your mistake fix it..... I will not be going back their if that is how they deal with customers... I have now paid $75 (double charge plus bank fee) for a meal that should have cost me $25.....

Top Lunch. I loving coming here when I am craving a good burger. They are so filling and their spicy ketchup is perfect for the shoestring fries.<br/>I also love the calamari and Mozzarella sticks Appetizers.<br/><br/>It has a cool vibe and the servers are always nice. <br/>Some of their fancier things on the menu are a little high priced, though.

Lunch, brunch, dinner. Food, presentation & price always good!!<br/><br/>But staff more interested in visiting with each other than doing job. And don't ask if they can make change for parking "we don't have change, ever"... really???

Quinoa salad was very good

Pleasantly surprised. I've walked by a few times at night on weekends... It was packed with what looked like drunk college students. I just thought it was a place to drink.<br/><br/>Food is great! caramelize apples and brie sandwich is great!!! fish (cod) and chips were amazing too!

Wineway Robbery. My wife and I met my long time friend and his girl friend up from Las Cruces here last night (10/31/12) for drinks and dinner. The staff was great, the food was great as well as the drinks (vodka and RB were on point). We highly recommend this place for all 3. PLEASE READ BELOW.<br/><br/>BUYER BEWARE: we were given a 1⁄2 off menu on bottles of wine...come to find out the bottle the ladies ordered, which retails for $11.95 (Fat Bastard Shiraz) was charged to us at $30.00 and advertised as a $60.00 bottle of wine with no budge on the charge once we brought it to the attention of the staff....(please note the bottle was a twist off top). I do not recommend taking part in this bait and switch 1⁄2 off highway robbery “special”. The only thing special about this special was the no kiss or hug after the ****’ing that took place....stick to the per glass order if you are a wine drinker.

Amazing cocktails!. Dropped in on a Sunday evening with a friend because we figured it would be a quiet place to sit and talk. Sure enough, there were very few patrons and plenty of wait staff attention. We started with cocktails and some spring rolls. My companion sipped on the extremely sweet Bella Bella while I ordered a delightfully refreshing gin and cucumber cocktail called The Ritz. It was so good, I had two! The spring rolls were average but the prickly pear dipping sauce was fabulous! For our entrees, we ordered a wonderful steak salad with radishes, haricot verts, and fried carrots along with an enormous edamame and mushroom veggie burger served with sweet potato fries. To round out the meal, we shared an Earl Grey creme brulee which we both enjoyed immensely. Definitely trying Nob Hill Bar & Grill again!

Terrible Service. Came in today for a late lunch. It wasn't very busy so there's not really any excuse for why the service was so terrible:<br/><br/>We were seated and sat around and watched our server walk past us and go take a food order at another table without acknowledging us. When she showed up, she didn't just want our drink orders, she expected that we'd already decided on everything we were having. Then when we did order, she asked "Is that all you're ordering?". Yes, the three of us would like to have 3 appetizers and an entree, I hope that's okay with you. <br/><br/>When it came time for refills, we had to lay all 3 of our glasses on the edge of the table to get her attention. Then the drinks didn't show up for around 10 minutes, and they came out wrong. I ordered a regular tea, first a sprite was poured, then a lemonade was brought out, then a peach tea, and finally, after 4 ATTEMPTS, I got my iced tea. <br/><br/>When we were done eating, we sat around for about 10 minutes waiting for a check. I love being held hostage. <br/>The good news though is that the hostess did most of our server's job for her (ie bringing out our food, explaining the desserts, etc etc) so we gave the hostess half of our server's tip... in case she was wondering why I only tipped a little over 10%.<br/><br/>As for the food, I loved it all. The sliders were great, the nachos were awesome, the chips and dip trio were great, and the fish and chips was tasty and a large portion. Too bad I wont be back though, because the great food was overshadowed by the TERRIBLY BAD SERVICE.

Go-To Albuquerque Restaurant. Nob Hill has become our go-to restaurant over the past several years. Always comfortable, welcoming...with good food amd wine. Especially love the outdoor patio when the weather is nice!

Very bland fish tacos!!! The pickle was the best part of the meal.. :-(

Worst Experience. Went to celebrate a birthday with high hopes of a good meal and a fun time. Upon arrival, the mood soon turned sour. The waiter, Jonathan, was distracted, slow to bring out drink refills, and was not extremely sympathetic to the fact that we had two children with food allergies. The burgers that were ordered cooked medium were well over cooked, the beef short ribs w/ polenta were so fatty they left a film of grease on your palette and the polenta was tasteless. There wasn't any salt or pepper on the table and when we asked the waiter for some he brought it when we were done eating. We talked to the manager who claimed to be sorry and she would make things right, but only discounted us $10 on a $142 meal. Unbelievable...Never Again Nob Hill! Oh, and the waiter was overheard telling our "story" to another table of people not far from us...how unprofessional. 4 out of the 7 of our party had upset stomachs afterwards.

Cocktails. Come for the fantastic cocktails, stay for the yummy food. The fancier part of the menu is not quite as good as one would expect based on the price, but they do an exceptional job on the mid-price items: burgers, salads, soups are all amazing. Especially the tomato bisque, just the right combination of creamy spicy goodness. Don't bother with brunch, though, many better options around.

Went to Nob Hill with my wife and son. The atmosphere was upbeat... the place is split into a hip bar and a posh dining room. We ate in in the bar where they have some big flat-screens with football playing which worked perfect for us. I will say that the dining room is quite luxurious and seemed elegant but not snobby. We started with the nachos and they were delicious. The guacamole on top was fanatastic. My son had the wings and I went with the ribs. Both were good choices as we found them cooked to perfection, well seasoned and both tender and juicy. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys traditional American food in a more upscale environment.

Used to love it.... I have been to Nob Hill Bar and Grill 6-7 times this year. At first I loved it, the Kobe Dirty burger was the best. Unfortunately it has slowly gone down hill each time since. Last week when I went there for lunch I found out they don't do the Kobe burger anymore (which is a shame cause it was so good), and the service was at an all time low. We didn't get our appetizer at all, the burger I did have was burnt to charcoal, and the server didn't seem to care about much. When the server came by to ask how everything was (the only visit to the table), I started to tell him and he just turned and walked away after I got out "Well, its..". It is clear that there is a reason that the restaurant is less and less busy each time I have been there. It used to be a place I would drive across town just to eat there, I hope that it improves. I do really like the atmosphere and the outdoor seating.

Lunch. Went there for a late lunch. Waitress was very attentive. The Mahi Mahi fish tacos were really good. Good pineapple salsa and fresh tasting.

On the fence..... I have been here many times and experiences varied. I have seen a big improvement in the service and quality of the food in the last few months. Disco Fries (NM version of Poutine) are actually quite tasty and buger was good. 1/2 bottles of wine on Sunday and Wednesday; always a good deal. Becoming a regular spot on the rotation.

Had high hopes, but was dissatisfied. The online menu is old and does not reflect the current offerings. The service uninterested (at best) and the food vastly over priced for what it is. I give it a generous 3 out of 5 stars.

Always great!. A wonderful local restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great variety with many excellent entrees. The deeserts are homemade and the bread pudding is awesome. Gotta go there and try it!

Love the vibe. I really like the atmosphere. The service could use a bit of improvement and the menu is a bit too pretentious for the abilities of the kitchen staff. I have been pleased with some dishes and others I wonder wth they are thinking. Overall though its a cool place to eat, then you can head over to the bar side. The wine menu is good, the vibe is good and maybe if they would hire some grown ups to staff the place, they would have better luck.

No Vote. Plus- great atmosphere, cool salt water fish tank, roomy, yada yada.<br/>Minus- didn't feel staff thought we belonged there? Very dry personality.<br/>Other- We had the Snake RIver Kobe sliders (American Wagyu, not Japanese Wagyu, we could tell by the gristle and the not as tender texture and flavor and...). Meat tasted like.. well, American Wagyu but the combinations offered were really tasty. Also had the Mac Mac and Cheese. Really weren't prepared for this one. Menu said it was served with a vegetable medley, didn't think it would be ON TOP of the dang mac and cheese. This thing was about 8 inches high stacked with fried red onions, green beans, squash, portabello mushrooms (that was the only good addition) and WHAT??? Carrots? On my Mac and Cheese?.... please. Don't be puttin carrots on my mac and cheese. Anyway, if it was on the side it would have been ok. After rooting through all this the actual mac and cheese was yummy, plenty of cheese very flavorful, but not enough as far as quantity of what I ordered (that would be mac and cheese). Would we come back? Probably not. Don't see much else on the menu that was enticing. Give it a neutral vote (none) because it has pluses and minuses.

It was terrible. the atmosphere was cool and we thought we would have fun but the terrible cocktail waitress and the pushy staff telling us to leave repeatedly right after we'd ordered a drink, let us know that this place was disrespectful to patrons, rude and didn't care if we returned at all. would never go back. will tell friends to avoid.

Food okay, but service needs to improve. I've been impressed with the burgers, buffalo-style calimari, and a few of thei desserts. They have a pretty nice happy hour with reasonably priced appetizers and drinks. However, service needs improvement. For example, it took over ten minutes for the server to tell me they didn't have a particular beer on draft that evening. Then, another 10 minutes to get a replacement beer. Then, when the bill came I was charged for an additional beer - the one that wasn't available.

Best burgers in town!. Okay so we were looking for a burger one night and just happened in and had Kobe beef burgers. They were FANTASTIC! They were hardy, cooked right, juicy and there are a lot of topping choices. However, stay away from the desserts. We tried the desserts on another night....no so fantastic.

The food and the drinks were really great. What shocked us most was the chai gellato, fantastic! The service was fast and efficient. We'll be be going back soon.

I wanted to like Nob Hill, nice place, good presentation, but unfortunately poor service and food. On a beautiful 75 degree day they had the patio heater on. It was unbearably hot, yet asking three people to fix it yielded nothing but annoyed looks. My "stew" had exactly 2 small pieces of neat in it, and my coke was flat. Consider walking a block down to Kelly's.

Consistently awful. Creative menu items sound tempting, but always disappoint. Service is Inattentive to non-existant.

Nice cocktails, lame appetizers/service. We've been here a few times. The bartenders use fresh ingredients to make some delicious specialty cocktails, but the appetizers are rather smallish and not worth the money. The service (away from the bar) is always pretty lackluster. We usually have one drink here and then go across the street to Monte Vista Fire Station....

Food ok but poor service.. I try to be fair when reviewing places, so if I don't like a place the first time I'll often try it a 2nd or 3rd to be fair but 3 strikes on Nob Hill. Service has been slow and inattentive, I've always gone in by myself and I don't expect a server to wait on me special but each time I've visited I've had to wait too long to get a drink, order my meal and to be checked on after receiving my meal. The food is fairly good but service is what will not make me come back.

Won't eat there again!. Trying too hard to be inventive. Food was bland, in particular the veggie burger. Do yourself a favor and walk down the street to Two Fool's tavern or La Provence. The waitstaff was nice although they made us feel rushed. When they split our check for six people (includes 20% gratuity) the waitress kept the extra change which amounted to $3.33 which we thought was rude.

In a very good way, this place has great potential. We had great service and the food was seriously innovative, but too salty on the fish tacos' rice, beet cakes with the Salmon. Finding an obscure beer took too long to arrive at "unavailable." But honestly, I will go back. I assume their burgers (Kobe et al) rock. And the Irish extreme chocolate dessert is not to be missed!! Makes Me Wish I Lived At Nob Hill!. The Nob Hill Bar & Grill is a relatively new restaurant/bar to the Albuquerque area. As such, it is still ironing out some inconsistencies in their food. Nonetheless, the menu is innovative without being stand-offish and their sweet potato fries are the best in the city! The real jewel of this place though is the bar! When you want a martini with friends, this is the place to go. During warm weather, the entire restaurant opens up to the sidewalk creating a warm and inviting place to sit back and just enjoy the evening.

The quality of food and drinks goes up and down depending on the night. When it's on it's on! The drinks are made from scratch and can be fantastic.

The food is dressed to impress and the flavors are on point. My steak was prepared to a perfect medium and the pile of truffle fries were downright delicious. I especially recommend the Mozza Sticks. That pinon crust takes a standard appetizer and really punches it up. We were able to enjoy an app and entree for around $40.

This Ain't Yo Mama's Meatloaf, and in my opinion they have one of the best cheeseburgers in town. I particular love how I can choose which 2 toppings I want. I always get bacon and green chile

In April, 2008, one of the pretty new faces gracing the Duke City dining scene was the Nob Hill Bar & Grill on Central Avenue. The mere fact that it’s survived three years (as of this writing) is indicative that it’s doing things right. The fact that there doesn’t appear to be any surcease in its popularity despite the onslaught of newer and arguably prettier competition says the Nob Hill Bar & Grill formula is working very well indeed.
