I will always go out of my way to come here. Yes, the food is that good! The staff is so inviting and kind. It’s definitely worth stopping by to get some great Jamaican food!
I’ve had some really good food from here in the past and even with my recent visit 🥰. There’s always different ppl working so, never the same faces. Today, the woman preparing my plate asked if I wanted double vegetables, if I wanted double meat or rice. 🙄 I said no thank u to all of her suggestions or whatever. As she was preparing my food, Another comes to the register and motions me to come pay. I was looking at my food being placed in the platter but, she kept motioning me over to the register-I wasn’t able to see all that was placed on my plate 🤨. I go to the register to pay and at the register, the cashier is asking me if I want to add more drinks, cakes, and other things. It’s like I was going back and forth telling both of them “no.” I don’t want to be hassled when I’m buying food, 😌 please just ask once-not 7-8 times if ur customer wants anything else. It makes me not want to have contact with them (curbside 😂 or go elsewhere). Who wants to be nagged about buying more items? ✋ I’m already buying a $20 plate.
Speaking of this $20 oxtail meal, some of the oxtails were so small-the size of a nickel or dime not a quarter bc that’s to big. This plate wasn’t worth $20, especially with all of these small pieces of oxtails 🙄. The cornbread is so small it doesn’t fit in the area on the plate 😤. Overall, it was an ok meal. I didn’t taste a lot of flavor on the oxtails either. Assuming it was just “one of those days.” I’ll visit again and would recommend. I didn’t want to give 3 stars, I would rate 3.5 not 4. Since they isn’t a half option, I put 4 not 3.
I was in town visiting and found this spot. Omg ! I’m so glad I did. The food was definitely a 10+ we’ll seasoned all the flavors where just right. The staff are beyond nice. The place was very clean. I’ll definitely be back.
Kind of a hard time rating this place. It’s not quite a 4 but not a 3 either. Everyone was very friendly here, staff and other customers. The jerk chicken had a nice smoked flavor and the jerk rub and a sauce tasted great. But the chicken was slightly over done and a little dry. The beans and rice also had great flavor but it was a little crunchy, so not quite done or not made with enough water. The cabbage, was good just how I like it, not mushy with a little crispness left. Though it could have used some heat, maybe some crushed red pepper or something. Now that I think about it, the jerk spice could be a bit hotter as well. The plantains let me down. They too were over cooked and dry. It was $13 for lunch. I will for sure be back as the flavor made up for the cooking.
I was very excited to find this place when we were looking for somewhere to get lunch. I have never come across a Jamaican restaurant before and the flavors were amazing. I had the jerk chicken and he let me have a little bit of the goat just to taste it loved too.
