La Mexicana

Today we found another GEM in Yucaipa! La Mexicana Restaurant on Yucaipa Blvd. This place has been here for over 20 years serving great Mexican food and I can’t believe I never ate here before. Their menu is filled with so many choices and yet, I still go to my favorite dish a wet Chile Verde Burrito with Beans and Cheese and it had the perfect amount of heat and was so delicious overall. Need a great Mexican food fix? I suggest La Mexican Restaurant in Yucaipa.

La Mexicana has been one of our favorites for over 20 years. Good food and friendly service. To The OWNER..., My one recommendation with rising costs. Your AL Gusto Burrito... PLEASE do not shrink the Original size. Keep It large with whatever amount of meat is standard, just add more rice/beans so the size is as it always was... Huge. Doing this will keep your cost the same as no extra meat is used, only inexpensive bulk added. REMEMBER, presentation is what sells, and keeps patrons happy and not feeling they are being given less for more $$.. Thank you.

This place just reopened. I was shocked at how busy it was, it is a very popular spot. I had never heard of it until 2 days ago, when my neighbor told me about it reopening, and he described it as one of his favorite Mexican restaurants. Service was very good, the food was good (the fresh homemade tortillas were EXCELLENT). We had the #1, cheese enchilada, chile relleno, and shredded beef taco, with beans and rice. Looking forward to the next time.

Food was average . The margaritas tasted syrupy and gave me a stomach ache. My husband did enjoy the shrimp. We went in with a group of 6 last night. None of us ever been there and the server (a middle aged short Hispanic woman with strawberry blond hair, pulled up in a tight bun), was very rude when we were not sure what to order and we just sat down. After our meal came and we were trying to figure out the receipt and who pays what in our party, she then got upset and inpatient and then ignored us . We had to get another server to cash us out. I live in Yucaipa, but will not return. Interior decor needs a face lift.
