My wife and I went to Ad Hoc for our wedding anniversary and we’re thoroughly impressed. We’ve done many multi-course meals before, but this was the first that focused on comfort food. We started with a refreshing and light salad. This was followed by an array of meats, including a delectable pulled pork. We also added the fried chicken, which was some of the best we’ve ever had. The homemade Buffalo sauce was excellent and the chicken was moist, and the batter still crispy. We finished with a cheese plate with the most delicious bun, followed by a rich brownie. The service was also top notch and well deserved a full tip. I would highly recommend a stop here while in the valley!

Nice open and airy space, with a full bar, and nice outdoor seating as well. Check out their web site for details, but the gist of the story is: This is another Thomas Keller property so it went without saying the food would be good. They serve a small menu, which changes often, family style, for a very affordable pet person price. We were there on a Monday, which is traditionally fried chicken day, and this did not disappoint. Fried chicken is, well, fried chicken, but I will say this was as good as I've ever had, and likely better than nearly all others. The sides were also delicious, and the service friendly, professional, and never intrusive. As an extra cost add-on, we enjoyed roasted beef bone marrow, with the resulting bone channels serving as luges for shots of bourbon (or, for one in our party, tequila). Sort of an "on the spot" instant fat washed bourbon! Casual and excellent choice when in Yountville.

Went on recommendation from my sister who said the Fried Chicken was the best she has ever had. First time we went for dinner, they didn’t have the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. After talking with the waiter, they said not every night, but they do serve as an add on during lunch. Dinner was a prefix four course meal. Salad, main course, cheese (took to go), went straight for the dessert. Salad was good. We added a fish dip. It was OK. Main course was Ok. The dessert was a vanilla ice cream with multiple toppings, very good. Skip forward a few days, we are back, but this time for lunch. 3 course meal, but had to add the buttermilk fried chicken. First meal again was a salad. Very good. Then they brought both the fried chicken and steak. The fried chicken was piping hot the drumstick, and Wing was not seasoned well or the seasoning didn’t take well but the breast and thigh was amazing. By the time we finish the fried chicken, the steak was cold so each only ate a little bit of it. Not that great cold. The dessert was OK. Highly recommend trying the fried chicken.

One of the best restaurants I've ever had in the Napa area. The menu is prix fixe but you can order extra. One nice thing is that it also provides vegetarian options. All dishes are designed to be shared among the table except for the dessert, which was vanilla ice cream. You also have the wine pairing options with two different prices. Wine pairing is per person. Our table ordered an extra crab risotto that day and I had the wine pairing. The first dish was salad. It came with some fruits and pistachios. It was slightly seasoned so you can still taste the original flavor of the ingredients while not too plain. The vegetarian version was the same without cheese. The second dish was the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce further made it better. The cherry tomatoes added some sweet and sour taste to the steak, which balanced well with the saltiness. The vegetarian version was mushroom with risotto (no cheese of course). Before the crab risotto was served, we had the cheese plate. The goat cheese went very well with the bread. The reason why the cheese plate came first was because the crab risotto was heavily seasoned with cheese. The crab meat was sliced so thin that it made you think the crab meat was cheese at first. This was also the only dish that I didn't like as much because it was too salty for me. However I know that this is normal for seafood dishes, just not my style. Finally, for dessert it was vanilla ice cream, which you can season according to your taste. It came with three different sauces: chocolate, strawberry, and one I don't remember. It was definitely a nice ending for the entire meal.

Chicken is not as good as it is known for. However, the beef is quite good!! The icon of the restaurant is pork but I haven't tried pork yet😅

Wasn’t able to snag a reso at French Market, but didn’t want to leave Yountville without experiencing what Thomas Keller had to offer. Enjoyed the meal, service & ambiance. French Laundry will be on our agenda next visit!

It was a special day for me, my birthday. We had a early reservation for dinner. No lunch, so we were hungry. Ad-Hoc has a preset menu. My husband added the extras, which included cavier and softshelled crab. The waiter surprised me with a candle in my dessert, which was yummy too.

Despite having visited Ad Hoc numerous times over the years, I've never taken the time to leave a review. The experience has always been excellent. However, during my recent visit to Napa, I was hit by a craving for fried chicken, and unfortunately, Addendum was closed for the season. Luckily, I struck up a conversation with some friendly staff members at Ad Hoc who informed me that they offered fried chicken to go. Up until that point, I had always dined in and enjoyed their prix fixe menu. It had been a while since I'd tasted their fried chicken, even though I have Thomas Keller's series of cookbooks and have made it at home. However, the restaurant's version is truly delightful and far less messy to prepare. I wholeheartedly recommend their chicken, even if it's a bit on the pricier side, because the quality justifies it. Ad Hoc remains one of my top casual dining spots in the Napa Valley area. Parking is a breeze, with a small lot and plenty of street parking available. The restaurant's location in charming Yountville is surrounded by lush trees and offers endless opportunities to sample wines and enjoy the day at nearby wineries.

A must visit for the fried chicken alone! I've visited the resturant once before for lunch and a couple of weeks ago for brunch. Both experiences were great! Service is a delight, and cuisine is really delicious. Addendum is behind the resturant proper & is a fantastic spot to grab a bucket of that divine fried chicken.
