I have been coming here for over 20 years and was never ever disappointed until yesterday! Ordered 3 Paul's, 1 small Paul and a cord of curly fries and a cord of onion rings. The new owners changed to 1 patty on the Paul's they are a little thicker but tastes gross. My small Paul looked like a McDonald's happy meal burger and he charged us 8.99 for it! Not even the rectangle burger. Not even the same!!!

The 4 Stars you first see above were earned by the previous owner and staff before 6-8 months ago. Now less than 1 star is accurate. Smittys cafe USED to be my favorite place for grab n go breakfast burritos and also had one of the best burgers in town.. Winter of 2022 the place changed hands and not good anymore. Destroyed everything that was good about it. Burrito price jacked up from $5.65 to almost $10 now. Don't know if they are any good because that is way too much to pay and i won't buy. Cute hole in the wall Cafe area now gone and an unwelcoming place to eat. I've stopped in about 4 times to give new owners a chance, checkout the hot case and hoping things would round out....walked out with nothing each time. Not going to try anymore. Old Smittys and crew, oh how I miss you! 😢Yakima lost a great treasure.

Ask me 5 months ago, I would have given 10 stars. Today I wish there was an option for less than one..So sad this fine establishment has been reduced to what it is today. Whoever the new owners are are going to run this place into the ground within a month. Ordered 4 burgers and a side of fries and waited over an hour for the order to be ready. Upon receiving the order there was no salt on the fries, the burgers were overcooked but cold- like cheese not even melted cold, and my husband's Paul Bunyan burger was missing the ham and bacon. We placed the order in person and sat there inside waiting for our name to be called for the order. So there was no reason for anything to be cold. Also, no fry sauce. The owner/woman working there seemed to blame all the issues on the young man helping her and wasn't afraid to belittle him in front of customers.... Although it took her 10+ minutes to package 4 already done burgers.... So so sad. Pathetic. This was our favorite burger place however we will NEVER BE BACK HERE BECAUSE THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT IN YAKIMA.

Needed to retract my original 4 star rating 11 months ago as so much has changed since the business has renovated. The original staff, the service rendered, and the food provided has changed significantly in a very negative way. The worst thing thing seen however was how the operator of this establishment left his own 5 star rating and didn't note how any of the complaints would be looked into or corrected. Wrong way to operate a business, by pushing away your solid customer base. Best of luck....Taking my business up the road to the Bullseye Burger. Such a shame too, as the breakfast burritos here used to be the best. So sad 😞....

Used to stop in here just about every morning for a breakfast burrito after work. Michelle at the front desk was the sweetest lady. Always brought a smile to my face. Had not been there in awhile, stopped in this morning. Front desk area was a train wreck. Took almost 5 minutes to get someone to come to the desk. 1 customer behind me did walk out. Had no bacon burritos so got an all meat. At least half the size smaller and paid more. Talking to another customer, was told that the bold staff quit after new management took over. Kudos to them cuz this group will ruin what was a very good place. My opinion, my fact, will never stop there again.

They hired an entire new staff and although they were friendly they weren’t exactly amazing chefs. Ordered 30 minutes before I showed up and then waited over an hour before they finally decided to start my food. I was waiting with two other guys who’d also been there for an hour. They messed up orders and lost tickets making what is usually a quick in and out stop last almost two hours. In the end when I finally got my food it was the worst I’ve ever had from here.

Update. New owners took over a few months ago and the entire staff walked. Food quality has dropped. Have had three burritos and they are just kind of mediocre now. Have yet to go back and try a log burger. Changing to 3 stars and when I go back and try a burger it will either go to 4 stars or 1. Great breakfast burritos, but even better hamburgers. Great place to stop for lunch. Staff is always friendly, and the food is usually pretty quick to come out. Call ahead if you need it in a hurry though. They can get pretty busy. Priced very reasonably.
